Something to share with you guys about my favourite Zelda-like RPG game which most of ya probably overlooked it.
Dink Smallwood is, once again, Zelda-like RPG game and a small parody of it. The story tells about a teenage called, see the title, who is a pig farmer (Which according to him he is not), after the accident related to his family moves to the next town in order to live with his aunt, little he did know that he will embark into an adventure of his life time.
The game was released in 1997 in retail package but years later it turned freeware. Then, in 2010 it received a "HD" remake on iPhone/Android and PC. Which is also free (Cept the mobile version but it's very cheap)
One of the biggest features of this game is creating your own adventure with the editor and it's own programming language called DinkC. Fear not, as making mods for this game is relatively easy to learn. Of course, the HD version has compatibility issues with some of em.
So far if you want to enjoy it on PC. Get yourself FreeDink instead, it's based on the original source code but updated to work on modern system, while bringing some features from the HD edition.
Other pages:
Original Dink Smallwood
HD edition
Dink Network (The only site related to making and releasing mods for this game)
Now, here is a list of mods that I recommend playing:
World of DinkC/
Stone of Balance
Pilgrim's Quest (Sequel to Stone of Balance)
Malachi the Jerk
Phropecy of the Ancients
Cast Awakening Part 1: Initiation
Dinky Dimensions 1: Fiat
Small tips. Hold down, while moving forward hold down the opposite direction as well, that way you will be able to attack faster and make use of the obstacles to easily deal with some monsters without hurting yourself.
Small note: Dink Smallwood HD is probably the 1st mobile game that supports modding.
