Arcades were my life back in my childhood/schooling days. Where kids hung out in shopping centres, playgrounds or wherever they hung out at, we hung out in the arcades. And yeah, I would skip eating in school just to have money for tokens for the arcade.
Liked going to the arcade when I was younger.

Wasted many quarters on Rampage and Turtles in Time. Also remember Xenophobe, but didn't see that many places. I also recall a game similar to Xenophobe, unsure who copied who. Enjoyed the gun games...Time Crisis, the zombie one (can't recall name) and others.

There is a nickel arcade near where I'm at. Hoping it's still around in a year so I can take the kid there when he's 3. And that 3 is old enough to be able to do something there, heh.

51nikopol: If I had all the money I put into the Asteroids game I would be a rich man now. But I wouldn't have the great memories.
Had a neighbor with his own Asteroids machine. Spent a lot of time in his garage. Looking back, it was a good thing he wasn't a child molester or something.

I remember a small neighborhood market that had Tempest and Donkey Kong. Good times were had. :)
I did. Pinball, streetfighter and golden axe(or maybe gauntlet) I dropped a lot of quarters in.

Looks impressive. I'm going to the Arcade Expo come March. I make a stop at the Pinball Hall of Fame whenever I'm Vegas.

Back in my mid teens, I used to spent a lot of time at arcades in my town. Not really playing, but watching people play. Most of the new stuff that arrived regularly was Capcom and SNK fighting games, but you could find an occasional brawler or two and those classic Crusin' USA machines as well.

Ah, those were good times (not really, but, hey, nostalgia glasses are always the best! ^_^)
