A very nice and cheap weapon for your merc in hell is Obedience as it has CB for Bosskilling, Enchant for attack rating and damage as well as high ED aaaaaand defence qualities like resis and fhr. Runes are easily gettable: HelKoThulEthFal
"Magic Find" was one of Diablo2's top follies. It's a meta-attribute affecting the game world rather than being a trait of your character itself.

(The other big folly was the concept of skill synergies They shoehorn characters so much, are counter to their "intended" goal [of making other non-top-end skills get used] and lead to just a very narrow set of possible builds.)

KiNgBrAdLeY7: And i always wanted one of those sorcs (mainly for magic find). I keep dying like fly on sh*t, though, somehow, continually, especially on populated games. What spells work well for sorc fast killing, fast leveling and adequate surviveability? How to play sorc in hardcore?
Take my words with a grain of salt since it's been 10+ years since last i played and i never played hardcore mode much.

That said, i think the best sorc for fast killing was ice/lightning build with frozen orb/blizzard and nova/chain lightning/static shock(for bosses) as main skills.

Oups forgot the sorc part .... lightning only really is good with very good eq, then they are unbeatable. FO is quite weak compared to blizzard, but needs less reqs .... to survive hell you need a dual sorc with a good merc, so i would choose FO and Meteor as main skills ... just read guides for meteorb sorc .... with infinity on merc you could go pure lightning sorc.

True, I had a meteorb too.
She was unstoppable, even if Meteor is a bit frustrating spell.
For lightning, you just need a few levels of Static Field ; )

yeah need something in hell that can break immunities or multi spells is the best i had a lightning / orb sorc most of the time since fire immunity monsters were too common

Yeah, dual sorc is a must for surviving hell (and in some cases, nightmare too).

The best merc i found to be from act 2, nightmare difficulty.

ME? To use an editor... NEVER! I never use trainers, even if they are not hacks. I am clean and legit, hardcore and proud. Even in Single (old days before internet, i refused faithfully to use a program like Jamella, which all my friends back in the day did).

Other than that, thanks for sorc advice. If i raise her as i plan, i will pick holy freeze merc, because slows and no enemy is immune to it...

Why are they even called trainers?
I doubt that cheats train anything.. O_o

Because they train your character so you don't have to.
I've seen this possible for WoW in exchange for money in the Battle.net-shop on Blizzard's homepage at some point. Some level 70 boost for a lot of money.
Spending money so you don't have to play...

Ah ok, it makes sense.. the name.
The pay2win, instead, is a bit silly.
Anyway, I'm not totally against cheats in SP, just for fun or to defeat some bad grinding parts.

Damn, all that slowing... No one can do anything against my army! Bhaal was like an old lady in hospital! Conqueror, once again! Time to start systematic boss runs and hopefully, something good will drop. A random hedgehog in ice levels of act 5 nightmare threw on my face those godforsaken Immortal King gauntlets again, god, i got sick of this set already. Second time i find a final set piece and it is the single one i have zero use for...

I'd challenge you to a magic duel but... level 3000 almost 4000 is really hard to beat with a vanilla character (with most skills 100+) :P
Magic find is a catch 22 thing: In order to have a high MF percentage you need to have good gear but in order to find that kinda gear in the first place, you ideally already have high MF...

Personally, I don't see how one can even get 300 MF in untwinked singeplayer and I think killing speed and resistances are way more important than high MF - especially if you're playing hardcore. I don't play hardcore as I consider it a masochistic obsessive compulsive thing rather than anything remotely fun. The EXP penalty from dying in hell mode is already incentive enough to try keeping your character alive imho.

I see playing on hardcore as an artificial hormone rush creating device but unlike in a really dangerous situation, you're still sitting in front of your computer in comfortable safety. Therefor, the questions arises whether this messes with the brain chemically because you keep putting your mind on edge way beyond natural frequency especially if you play lengthy sessions - this could potentially kill off many dopamine receptors and ultimately make people more numb. If a player needs to play in hardcore mode, it's possible that they already grew too numb to get excitement from playing the game normally, of course this doesn't automatically mean there's a health problem in the brain and it also doesn't mean that people who casually play Candy Crush are more chemically balanced brainwise.

Cut the crap, professor! (witcher quote)

I like living on the edge. I like challenge against impossible odds, it reminds me of real "hell" (or rather, hell-like situations) and offline matters. And i am CONQUEROR, TWICE by now... At least i am master of nightmare. Only thing cutting me short of beating hell, is gear and sudden lags. Now i will try to make up for it.
