Hello my fellow Goglodytes, I know Diablo 2 isn't on GOG but it is a good old game so I thought I'd ask around. I'm looking at hosting some Lan gaming weekends with a few friends. I used to play Diablo 2 online and one friend played it a bit while the others haven't at all. I'm looking around for convenience of use mods as well as anything that would make it a little different or interesting for me and my friend as we've played it before but keep it mostly original and balanced for those who haven't.

I've seen Plugy, medianXL and eastern sun. So I'm more looking for personal experience and preferences than random links to mods you've heard of.

I also hear Titan quest and path of exile are pretty decent, what would people recommend. I'm not looking for a big commitment.

I'd consider Path of Exile a very polished version of Diablo, so it's easy to get into. If you know what you're doing and ignore sidequest content, the first playthrough should be pretty easy/fast and can be done in a single evening's LAN. I recon it might take around 10 hours with normal difficulty if you follow a cheap character build.

Beyond that you'll have to invest some more time. The second difficulty might also be doable in one sitting, but you might get badly burnt out playing the same game.
