Ancient-Red-Dragon: That almost never happens. Quite the contrary is the case 99%+ of the time: the more money a dev/publisher has, the more crap their games are.

There may be rare exceptions once or twice a decade or so, but that rule still holds the vast majority of the time.
Key example: Game Freak. Creator of one of the biggest media franchises in the worlds, their games are lazy and trite; making it seem like their game design chops atrophied.

Mr.Mumbles: Yeah, I don't get that move either.
Insert Mr. Krabs "Hello, I like money" meme. It's always either the owner cashing out or the company preparing for a big move and needing more capital. While it can increase the competitiveness of a company, it also opens up a can of worms for hostile takeovers and other corporate foul play. I'd argue it's something you consider after exhausting all other options, not something you joyfully waltz into.

Nible1: How long until our favorite Chinese game company buys the majority of the company?

slurredprey: When will those people run out of money?
When Chairman Xi decides they should get out of the spiritual opium business i guess.
