This is almost perfect, thanks for your support but do you know a way to automatically start the game too? I think there should be sth like command=play or start I don't know..

Sadly there is no working way yet to automatically start the game.. This feature should come in one of the future releases though : )
Outdated topic, but I found this thread while I was searching solution for this issue for myself so I think that it is a good idea to share the actual real and final working solution for this thing.

Firstly, as mentioned above - there is no simple way to create a shortcut to run a game with GOG Galaxy(To track hours and achievements) after installation. But it is possible to prepare shortcut like this very easily yourself.

This will work probably for all GOG Galaxy Games.
1. You need to create a shortcut by right-clicking (i.e. on your desktop)
2. As a path, provide something like this (Example for Wither 3 GOTY):
"E:\Program Files\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe" /command=runGame /gameId=1495134320 /path="C:\GOG Games\The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt"

The first location in a quotation is your Galaxy Launcher, so the executable for a platform(we want to run it to track our stats).
We will run GOG with "command" called "runGame" which is pretty obvious.
The "gameId" thing is representing our game's ID. It is different for Witcher 3 Standard and GOTY editions and for all games so be sure to check game's ID in its folder under "goglog.ini" file.
Also "path" location is a path to our game's main folder which ISN'T folder their binary files are stored!!

viola.
Oh and make sure that you'll change shortcut's icon ;) official icon for the game can be found in it's main folder too.

I have a rare case. I been using this method and so far it worked great. But I got stuck after installing Medal Of Honor Allied Assault. This game contains the original and both expansions. Now, I can make the shortcut for the original game without problem, but I have no idea how to make the shortcuts for the expansions which are launched through the "More" menu.

I though maybe they have different IDs or use a different command but thus far couldn´t find a solution.

Any ideas?
GOG Galaxy has crashed my PC before. So I expect, as it had been previosly, that the desktop icons would launch the game without galaxy. This is not the case any more. DRM Free is about freedom and choice, so give me the choice to make desktop icons With OR Without GOG Galaxy. Annoyed because all my gog games were installed with galaxy, but the desktop icons are inconsistant.. if i want to launch with galaxy i will use galaxy to launch.... if i dont want galaxy to run i will use the desktop icons.... until this behavior is resolved I will continue to avoid galaxy and have to use the website to download.. Seriously ther are 2 ways to install a game purchased on GOG... 1. Download Offline Installers. 2. Use GOG Galaxy. Galaxy makes install Easy. So give the User/consumer the choice of how to run their games... I still prefer to use the game without the buggy Galaxy client. It is buggy on my pc. Of course their are exceptions. the witcher games are big. so any large game i would want to choose to use galaxy Or Not!!....

No, DRM Free is about the absence of DRM.

If you prefer to launch games without a GOG Client, go ahead. I bet that all games have its standalone launchers in the game's binary folder, also - as you already said - "DRM free" games can be downloaded as installers, without GOG Client.

Anyways, this thread has been created by people who want to run game WITH GOG to track their achievements and store saves in a cloud.

Ah, ok look i am just saying we should have the option next to "create desktop shortcut" for "Offline Desktop Shortcut".
If i want to launch with Galaxy i would use Galaxy. making desktop icons pointless. Finding the Offline Shortcut is extra work. If they want us to use galaxy make it 100 x better rather than not, let us feel that we are in control, and give us the option .... this message is meant for GOG.... when i try to give feedback to GOG ......... i am sent here........ there is no way for me to create a more specific thread & my post is about my issue with "Desktop Shortcuts" The title of this thread.
Because i Like Choice, I choose PC.

DRM Free is literally about the fact that a game lacks DRM, copy protection, etc. Earlier I was
referring to the way GOG described it, long ago, when i first signed up. GOG said that DRM Free is
about freedom, choice, etc.

I wish and hope that GOG Galaxy will add the "Make Desktop Icon" option for "*Game*", with or
without Galaxy, should be part of the option when creating a desktop icon......

OK, for now, because there is no easy way, I found that once a game is installed Via GOG Galaxy,
the *Game* W/Galaxy Shortcut Icons, are in the new Start Menu Folder/Directory @
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\".....
&
The *Game* without Galaxy Shortcut Icons are in the folder the game was installed to!.....

I am using Windows 8.1. This may be the same on Windows 10 because, they are the most similar.

So the Game Launch through Galaxy With Overlay icons are in your start menu. The icons that just

run the game without Galaxy are in the folder the games were installed to.

:-)

So for now there is a manual solution. I can still hope for a GUI asssisted automated option.
