This game was
a severe disappointment, coming from (my exclusively solo-play experience of)
Talisman: Digital [
Classic]
Edition--even taking into account the glaring imperfections of that game.
Origins had so much potential, but was executed so badly, and then they cut support for it early because it wasn't immediately popular. (I know, I know, who
wouldn't immediately love a game with amateurish writing, plentiful bugs--some game-breaking--and a UI & HUD that's much worse, overall, than those of the main game it was based upon; a game which the devs very soon abandoned with most issues unfixed? There must be something wrong with me.)
I also hope that Nomad learn the lesson sooner or later that you can't use the same practices in developing, releasing, pricing and supporting an exclusively single-player game that you might use for an online-multiplayer-focused one, and still expect it to be successful. (I would argue that their "release it in a rough state, then only fix/finish it if enough people bought it, and delist it after just a few years if it was really unsuccessful" strategy is shitty even for licensed, multiplayer-focused titles, but I don't play multiplayer anyway, so what do I know.)
