Some of the games on Kult's list are still available DRM-free.

Trooper1270: You're not the only one, I'm still kicking myself even now. And I was on-line here at the time it was announced that it was being de-listed, and with a discount too. I chose not to purchase it, because I was lead to believe it was an incomplete game, and it wasn't. Gah!...
Well, it kind of is. The last episode of the story mode still isn't available...maybe later this year....

kultpcgames: I was hoping someone somewhere was selling a GOG account with a few games in it and this title would be in it. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Well, if you would do that, you might as well just pirate the game.

From what I read at the time of the de-listing, and before the story mode was a 'thing', there was cries and bemoaning that the game was not complete without said story mode. But there was also calls from others that the game was still enjoyable, and completable without the (then) currently unavailable story mode. Which was why I never purchased it while it was still available here on GoG. But the story mode is not the main part of the game, and was only made a 'thing', for those who need/want a story to guide them through the game, according to quite a number of people at the time that actually owned the game...

Well, not really. The story mode was a thing when the game was de-listed, having 3 out of 5 episodes available at the time. They eventually added a 4th episode, and yes the GOG version got that update. Otherwise the game is basically a sandbox and not really "completeable" as such; you kind of set your own goals. In a way the story mode is a tutorial, or at least the first episode is.

But anyway yes, you should have bought it. ;)

I know, and I wish I had, but it's a little late now. And I've been kicking myself ever since...
Wow. I am so disappointed in this. I really enjoy House Flipper and was looking forward to the farm dlc and House Flipper 2. Guess I got my question answered about House Flipper 2's release here. They don't want my money, fuck'em.
I hope it will return as eg. Complete Edition or sth someday.
It's not the first time I've seen a move like this on GOG. That is, before the release of a new expansion or DLC, the developer/publisher remove the game from GOG so that potential new buyers go directly to Steam. A month or two after that release, when the novelty has passed, the game reappears on GOG.

Honestly, and for the developer's credibility, I hope they put the game back on GOG along with the new DLC they just released today. Unfortunately, you have already commented on the forum about some games that disappeared from GOG permanently.

What would be the possible benefit of such an action?

More sales perhaps?
Bought the game on gog, now delisting. Meh, no updates anyway, whatever. Oooh, new DLC ... but not here, have to buy it on Steam. Oh looky, it's back on GOG. Should I buy the DLC again? Afer all I prefer GOG.
Had to check on their Facebook page of all places to see that the devs commented on one post saying that yes, the game is currently delisted but it will be added again before the end of the month as well as the new DLC.

Sounds pretty scummy they wanted to do it this way. No reason is given as to why.

I can't say for sure, but it could be an exclusivity matter with Steam (I don't know how the contracts that developers sign with the platforms work). I'm sure you know games that are released exclusively on one platform and, after a while, are released on the others.

The biggest profits are obtained when the game has just been released, with the novelty. After that, interest drops and the chances of sales are lower. By focusing the launch on a single platform they make sure they get the maximum profit. And, obviously, Steam is the platform with the largest number of users.

Interesting to see that the game is still available on EPIC, but not the new DLC. I have little experience with EPIC, but I get the feeling that EPIC moves into the exclusivity field even harder than Steam.

On the other hand, I have seen that in Steam there is what is called Workshop, in which you can design and create objects. It is possible that the new update of the game, including the new DLC, requires using that workshop online, which would make it incompatible with GOG.
This is the answer that the user Reczberg#3979 (technical support, Frozen District) gave today in the official channel of House Flipper in Discord in respose another user about GOG delisting.

It is not temporary, and we're still gathering some information on what we can do, but be sure that we will stay in touch with the GoG players and try to figure something out. :C

Makes no sense (to me!).

That would be an "exclusivity matter" then, exclusively for a DLC?
A DLC for a game that is released already on other stores?
Same as above: makes no sense (to me!)
