Or the forum might have been broken more than once...

DrYaboll: I like it - it's funny, and it's another thing that shows that the people working on gog are...ordinary people, not some elitist, elusive 'pricks' like in the case of Steam.
I'm not exactly saying it's an inexcusable mistake, far from it, but claiming that developers of Steam are elitist, elusive pricks just because they don't make as many mistakes is a fairly shitty thing to say. For one you encourage GOG to continue making mistakes, for other I assure you that developers working at Steam are also ordinary people who have absolutely nothing to do with politics of their management

This takes the price for being the silliest and most elitist comment I have read this week.

(and that's considering I just read the Star Wars thread)

TheEnigmaticT: Yeah, no harm done, really. But you can see why we don't generally tell you guys what the release is ahead of time. :P
avatar
Austrobogulator: Have you guys considered adding a random character string into the new game URLs, so it isn't just "/release_[gamename]"?
Then it's in the link for the newspost as well, which is kinda silly. Regardless, you can be sure that we'll invest some extra effort into good ways to prevent such things happening again.

Access permissions. Thread is accessible only to blues, until a set time. Thus even if/when we guess the thread, we cannot access it.
Isn't locking the thread with 0 posts before the release enough?

Steam makes mistakes. I found a spelling error on their store page for "The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav" and reported it to them. It was on release day and I got a general "We are aware of this issue and are working towards a resolution" response. Made me kinda laugh. It had the purchase button with "Satanav" I think. I'll try and see if I have the screenshot still. :)
Thats, why I've written 'pricks' using the apostrophe.

I dont claim they are pricks. It was merely a comparison - to me, the atmosphere on gog.com is more humane than on Steam, that's all.

I'm sorry to see how you've perceived my comment.

Oh I see, you meant elitist, elusive 'pricks' in the good way, just like a mother strangles her child to protect it from the future :-P
Have you ever heard of a comparison / metaphore / irony / analogy / symbol...

And tbh,I don't even know if you're serious, or you're just trying to provoke me / just joking.

You've always seemed all right, so I guess maybe it's just some kind of joke.

Over, and out - I think I'm gonna stop now.
Thanks for catching this and posting, I got a good laugh out of it.
Made me laugh! xD
Should we make a wishlist entry for bringing back these truly unique gems of games?

A bit of both. Just choose what you prefer :-P At any rate, just ... No. That's not how symbolism works. Symbolism would be if you made a story where little Johnny met a Giraffe and Giraffe tried to climb this high tower of perfection, whereas little Johnny just kinda stubled around, living as he could. Everybody liked little Johnny more, but nobody trusted him with their money - see, the tower of perfection is ... Eh, I think you get it.

If you were being ironic and actually meant that Valve are great guys, well that would have been kind of cool, but it doesn't make any sense in the context of your post.

Comparison ... Yes, it was a comparison. You were comparing employees of Valve to elitist, elusive 'pricks' - with pricks in apostrophes which makes it a non-insult for reasons.

If you said something like that about me, you would have most likely pissed me off, regardless of apostrophes. Moral of the story? Eh, try to not make your analogies by calling someone apoprick :-P
