When you buy a game as a gift, you're effectively sending a code for the game that you can redeem here:
https://www.gog.com/redeem So basically, as Smannesman wrote, buy it as a gift using your own e-mail address. You will get an e-mail with a code for the game, and since giftcodes don't bind to your account, it's possible to redeem to whichever account you prefer. In your case, you can keep it for a week and then give it to your friend.
