SnowSlinger: Dear GOG,

nightcraw1er.488: It’s counter intuitive. If you want offline installers, but want all the online stuff via galaxy. Why not just use galaxy and the galaxy installers? The point of the offline installers is that it’s separate from time tracking and achievements and other online stuff. To note, all installers are now galaxified to varying degrees, so offline installer is a bit of a misnomer, more like installer that doesn’t contain a full galaxy install.

, but the offline-installers is where the focus should be, and they should never take a backseat to f'ing Galaxy. It's what GOG has on offer that's unique, and the stores main selling point.

nightcraw1er.488: You are going to be disappointed at some point. Maybe not now, but eventually you will see. Offline installers are not where the focus is, or has been for several years. Numerous issues with them, and the only backtrack has been when there has been a real outcry (I.e. including the whole of galaxy in all installers, rather than just a subset). Changelogs, patches, parity etc. Is all getting worse.
GOG was unique, but has become more and more like everyone else. It’s only a matter of time until offline installers are discarded as too much effort. Once enough users use galaxy, it makes business sense to just switch.
