flanner: i read it already. its possible you see it different...the one is too subjective to discuss over.
If you've seen his compiled stats then you'd know that it's not exactly a matter of "seeing it differently". 2015 was an excellent year for GOG releases of classic games, and a marked increase over 2014 as well. It's still too early to say anything for certain about 2016.

As for subjectivity, I will agree on that point, in that most of the complaints about a lack of classic releases on GOG usually boil down to, "I don't like the classics GOG has recently released -- I only accept the classics that I want."

flanner: at least, it was just one point of my list, so comment the others too. .
I actually pretty much agree with the others, as well as the points made by other people as well. Though I think any kind of public release schedule is unlikely since they may be covered under some kind of NDA.

flanner: - little old games re-releasing at all

rampancy: I guess we'll have to get JMich back here again with his statistics on classic game releases on GOG...
JMich's statistics prove it nicely for previous years, but if you check the two months of 2016 (even ignoring all the InDev games) you will see that so far this year is shaping out to be quite different. Very few old games so far, a lot less than previous years.

For example, for the category of 10 years old or older released in January and February, the numbers are:
2016 = 6
2015 = 18
2014 = 10
2013 = 14
2012 = 13
2011 = 9
2010 = 9
2009 = 6

Things might change later in the year; we'll see.

And I completely agree with that point, but I feel like we're still early in the year, and things may change in the coming months. Personally I feel like we'll get a more complete picture when fall comes around, and there's still the potential of unexpected surprises like a new publisher or IP showing up in Winter.

And not to derail this even further, but there's also the point that inevitably, the well of easily accessible "classic" games is drying up.

I intentionally used the statistic of games that are 10 years old or older on addition. This "well" doesn't really go down that much as we progress.

the things like what is little and what is enough, are always subjective but you are right that main problem is that i dont understand choices of games to re-release and it is subjective even more. for example i dont like very first games with full 3D engine cause i consider them ugly as hell so releases like turok are nothing for me. i love vga or svga games and last real HIT released by gog i consider afterlife and its quite long time since it..

but anyway, main point om my list is missing (not lack but missing) releasing amiga only games with emulator plug-in. there are many games that exist for amiga but not for pc, or are much better than badly done pc versions.

unfortunately, i think, gog is not about to release amiga games emulated for pc cause gog sees its future in new games and probably dreams of part of wealth, which is almost whole for steam so far..

FTFY. You did read the FAQ before you started shopping, didn't you?

JMich: You did read the FAQ before you started shopping, didn't you?
Granted, I misconstrued the following line:

"Keep in mind that the stock of free games is limited. However unlikely, it's possible they may run out."

I figured that stocks of certain games would run out, not that they would run out of free games altogether.

Not that it affects me personally anyway, I only got two games during this whole sale. But there being a throwaway line about limited stocks in an FAQ doesn't make this any less of a letdown to users who were anywhere close to getting a freebie.
