All right, I have clogged 25 hours into the bloody thing, so I think I can finally make it official: That game is fantastic. It really, really is. It's very different from the first game, and in what it does, first game is still much better. It's not as good hack'n'slash, it's not as balanced and it's not as varied (arguably. But it just doesn't throw as many stuff in your face every hour or so as the first game did.) However, the second game just took a different path, and for that, I currently prefer it to the first game; it gives you a pretty damn big, open world to explore, it introduced RPG mechanics (which are kinda unnecessary methinks, but ... They don't get in the way either), it gives you great story (and Death is a great protagonist - he just seemed like a whimp when compared to War in the beginning, but he grew on me and now I quite simply prefer that arrogant, sarcastic twat), and - for me most importantly - the world it offers for you to explore is simply amazing. Darksiders 2 is definitely one of the most beautiful games I have played in a long, long time, and its world is genuinely interesting and fun to explore.
Basically, aside from discussion, the point of this thread is to lure more people to this game. For how fantastic it is, it just doesn't seem nearly as popular as the original, which is a shame. Also, thank you, SimonG, for he is the evil corporate lawyer who has gifted it to me.
