Yeah, it's a lot more interactive than most visual novels. It's more along the lines of Phoenix Wright or 999, so maybe it's more reasonable to just call it a straight-up adventure game.

It's fun, but I already played it. When they release the sequel I'll buy that one.

Well, visual novels come in many variations - RPGs, dating sims, adventure games...calling it "a straight-up adventure game" sounds vague at best and misleading at worst.

By the way, have you seen the anime? I ask because you call the story "amazing", and the anime adaptation's only sort of "amazing" was amazingly bad. It was really obvious that it's a visual novel adaptation (even more than usual), but I suppose it's possible that it was a bad one. On the other hand, the central contrivance is - I assume - the same, and that was...well, let's keep this polite.

The anime was bad I wouldn't base your expectations for the game on that.

Yes, definitely. There's a hell of a lot that the show skipped over, and the game does such a good job of conveying mood. It feels like a completely different thing.

Would be a nice surprise if, instead of the bog standard adventure games being hurled at us every week, we could get one that was a little different for a change. It'd sure as shit be more interesting than Californium.

I love Danganronpa. I have both games on my PS Vita and finished them not too long after I bought them. I doubt they'll come to GOG, but if they do, I'd buy them instantly. It's some of the best fun I've had in murder mystery games.

Huh I remember reading a preview of this game when it was set to be released State-side for the consoles. I don't know why, but I always had the impression (hope?) it was more like Persona and less like a visual novel / adventure game.

Doesn't sound like that's the case though. Still, hoping it shows up here for all the people interested. Certainly sounds like an odd little title that could be interesting. Plus, it's always nice to see GoG get the support of previous console (maybe handheld in this case?) only games, and a Japanese one at that.

I haven't finished it yet, I'm about 12 hours in. I don't think I get why everyone seems to love it. It's good, but the characters seem over-the-top at times.
