TheDudeLebowski: Dog categories: guard dogs, worker dogs, hunting dogs and lastly companion dogs. Dogs = purpose.
Cat categories: dumpster cat, house cat. Cats = pests? :P

Cats: Clean themselves, dig holes when they defecate and cover it up, don't require walking/exercise, are quiet and don't need much attention.

One should want to interact with a pet of their own volition...not just because they have to to maintain it all day long. ;)

My one cat years back(which died at the ripe old age of 16) caught a bat that had somehow gotten into our home once. Dunno how it got in.....place was basically sealed tight yet somehow it did. My mom pitched a fit at the time as she loathed bats and we had to wait for animal control to come get it as my mom insisted.
