Will Cyberpunk really only run on Windows 10?
Windows 7 could not handle it or a Linux distro?
Anyone have an idea?

And yes I still run 7 and hate 10 with a passion, actually switched to Linux for some stuff so Cyberpunk is literally all I would need W10 for.

I guess with GOG's new policy in place, if it's still in place when CP2077 releases, you could try it on Win7 and see?

Thanks for the suggestion, I might try that . Would be good to know ahead of time if 10 is only a recommendation or a must.

Probably won't know for sure until minimum specs are announced, but pretty sure they implied somewhere it was 10 only. With 10's adoption rates being super high, this will only get more and more common.

It may run under Windows 7, but they'll never state it as supported OS for obvious reasons. So let's wait and see for ourselves.
it'll probably depend on something like what version of directX it uses (is that still a thing? it's been a long time since i faffed with that) and if that version is available on win7.

i'd guess that it'd probably work, maybe not optimally, but you're unlikely to get official support if there are issues if you're not on the supported OS list.

but as someone suggested: give it a spin and refund if it doesn't work. maybe contact support before you do so to preempt any issues and assure them you're not trying to abuse the new refund policy for a free game.

edit:
not sure how reliable this page is, but it claims win7 support:

Why would they support win 7? It's old, archaic and needs to go away.

*cough* The same can be said for certain forum users and their posts... *cough*

Windows 7 is no longer supported, if you continue to use it, you do so on your own back.
I would suggest 64bit would be minimum and that it may run on win 7. But that is speculation.
