I'm going out on a limb here, but since you write you got the game gifted...I assume the person gifting you the gift, bought a cheap ass key from some shady key-reseller site.
That key was probably bought with some stolen credit card.
After the theft got noticed and reported, the bank revoked all payments.
Therefore your key/game got revoked, too.

If you're having trouble with the chatbot, see staff directions for creating a support ticket. If that also doesn't work for you, try directly e-mailing support (at) gog (dot) com

Where did the person that bought it buy it from?

That often happen with keys from resellers, people buy games with a stolen credit card, sell the keys cheaper and when the card is reported as stolen those keys get revoked. It's bad for legit customers, but my best advise is, buy games direct from the store to avoid any problem.

In addition to what others have said... is it possible that you might have multiple GOG accounts, and the game is in a different account? Wouldn't be the first time this happened to someone.

Yes, I would go for the "wrong account" option as well, but his profile shows that he actually played the game two years ago for a couple of hours.

So ... contacting support is the only option for now.

Has nothing to say.
If a game gets played on an account, but then vanishes from said account, while the account holder is saying "I got the game GIFTED at release", the chances are pretty high, that the person gifting the key went to some key-reseller site (because new CP 2077 was €60,-(?) while key-reseller site keys are much cheaper).

Later on, it gets discovered that the key bought on that site, was paid with a stolen credit card, so all purchases made with that card get revoked.
And in GOG's case that means, they remove the game from your account.

Why didn't you read the beginning of my sentence? That would have saved you from answering with something completely unrelated.
(Just so you don't have to look it up: It was about using the wrong account).

Sigh, Maybe you should have read my comment - set in relation to your comment - before you answered.

My friend, I read the first part of your sentence.

Only THAT has nothing to do with the problem at hand, since - as you yourself mentioned already - the OP played the game on THIS account here - not on some other account that he forgot about.

And all support will very likely have to tell him, is that the key got revoked because CC fraud.

You'll notice that OP made this thread three days ago - and he hasn't returned yet.

For me that can mean only two things:
A) he asked the noble donor, where he bought the key in December 2020 (answer: key-reseller), or
B) he contacted GOG support, and they told him, what I have written above.

Reading comprehension and logic - two skills that we as a society should definitely teach our children in school.

If you pay close attention, you will notice that I didn't answer to your post, but to another, even quoted it. Yours had nothing to do with my post.Sigh

Amen to that. Maybe the next generation will do better than we two do.
They should - other than me - specifically say which posts they don't answer to instead of quoting the post they actually do answer to, so no misunderstandings can come up.
And other than you they shall not reduce a sentence to some words out of context so they have something they can object with.
