Yes yes yes I know I have been talking about Crysis alot on this forum, but this is a perticular issue I have been suffering from for a long time. I bought this game on Origin and now I cannot play it for some reason.

Let me explain in detail.

I installed it freshly, I press play from Origin, nothing happens. No notices telling anything wrong, Nothing even appears in the Task Manager's properties and processes suggesting Crysis 3 is working or even up.

I pressed Origin Self Repair, nothing happens.

Re-installed, nothing happens.

Looked up google and found this apperent fix for it, I have to delete the game's licesne from the Program Data > Electronic Arts > EA Services > License > the data I must delete.

Everyone in the EA forums I have seen says it worked for them.

Well guess what......not for me.

I looked up video footage for how to fix it and I find this one where not only he deletes the License data he disables and stops Windows Management Intrumentaion from Windows Services.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmsB_peS7OQ

But I do not want to do that because I have no idea what that can do to my PC. And notice in the video the game appears in Windowed mode, but nothing really happens, just a black screen.

So far all my options have failed and now it forced me to ask anyone here or there about this game if they have suffered from the same issue?
LOL no help here but you're going to OD on Crysis! ;)
Could it be an OS issue? Which OS are you running?

The only solution to this is the one you've already tried. They do specifically state that you have to have Origin closed before deleting those files, just in case you didn't do that part.
What os are you using?

1. You could try disabling WMI as described. There shouldn't be any problem booting up without it. If so you could just boot up into safe mode mode, and do this in CLI as admin:

net start winmgmt

2.Make sure it did install - try starting it directly from the game's folder. If it doesn't register in manager it most likely does not even start (something between origin and the game) or quits abruptly (faulty game or os). Check the logs for the OS.

3. Don't use Origin myself but I would imagine it has some sort of a cache folder... delete it and restart origin. Or uninstall origin, delete every folder associate (including under C:\users\), and reinstall.

4. Any other games on origin or computer in general that exhibit the same behavior?

Unfortunately, the Crysis series was / is troublesome.

http://sourcedaddy.com/windows-7/disabling-unneeded-services.html:

"Windows Management Instrumentation Provides an interface for scripts and other applications to control various components of Windows 7. Disabling this service will result in the Internet Connection Sharing, IP Helper, and Security Center services stopping, too. If you do not use these services, feel free to safely disable it."

The only reason why I don't disable it on my gaming computer (Win7) is because I use TinyWall....
It's the same old question: can it run Crysis? :P

Elmofongo: I bought this game on Origin...
Have you already exorcised your computer and sought Mani's forgiveness?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Well, I'm just guessing here, but anyway.
Well, first of all, even if it's a fix, don't disable Windows Services unless they are literally completely useless.

Have you already tried running the game's executable directly? You should also set it so that it always runs as administrator. And maybe Origin too.

Make sure you have all the required software installed, common culprits are:
- DirectX 11
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, either , [url=https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679]2012 or 2013.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4
Not sure what else you might need.

You can try and check the logs in the Event Viewer (Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer) for a better idea of what's going wrong (possibly).
Try running the game again, then look under Windows Logs -> Applications, and see if you can find Crysis 3 there. You won't actually see the name in the list, the fields should be "Level", "Date and Time", "Source","Event ID", and "Task Category".
The "Level", should be Error, "Date and Time" should obviously be recent, and "Source" should be "Application Error".
The details should be under the description. May or may not provide more info.

Well, and that's about all I can come up with. Hope you get to run it eventually.

There is your problem right there!

you will need windows 10 x64 anniversary edition you need it because that game requires the upgraded DX11 to run no upgraded dx11 for windows 7 home premium

they stopped supporting win7!

Don't worry win 10 anniversary feels a lot like win7 so it wont be as scary as you think!

You're joking now, right?

EDIT: You didn't say if you used 32 or 64 on Win 7 Home?

The official spec (min) are these:

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
• Dual core CPU
• 2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
• Nvidia GTS 450
• Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
• Example 2 (AMD):
• AMD Radeon HD5770
• AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)
