I'm interested, but just as "unavailable" as before. In other words there's a chance I could play but I would risk both having to drop out in the middle and lower my work productivity enough to annoy my boss.

In a pinch I might be a substitute (if there's even the possibility of a sub coming in). I suppose.

@Zazak how long would an average 12-players game take?

zazak09: There are no boring roles like vanilla townie. There is no boring RVS stage. You don't get a participation award if your faction wins after your death. Sometimes you need to backstab your own teammate in order to come out ahead. I have a feeling you will like it.
I am even more sold than I was initially.

I hate being vanilla Town anyway, while everyone else is a Cop or a Tracker or a Godfather or stuff. I wouldn't hate it if everyone else was vanilla, that would be a quite interesting Mafia game for how "classic" it feels.

2-3 weeks is my estimate, but it's possible that it ends quicker than that.
The setup also works with 10 or 11 players, so that's an option. And yes, subs are appreciated.

I would love to play, but I am signing up for some practice games on Mafia Universe and I think I'll be tied up for awhile. Not sure yet when my game is for the tournament, but I'll let everyone know when I do find out.

The latter is still something I want to run as well. An open, pure Vanilla game without any power-roles. Probably I'll try that next.
I revised the setup to be more beginner friendly and fixed some balancing issues.

What are the chances that we get four more players to sign up today? I'd like to begin the game tomorrow.

Probably not that fast. I wonder if us getting a fair number of players last game was how Lift presented the signup thread's title.

Have you asked JoeSapphire, Carradice, gogtrial, GameRager (he loves to socialize)?

Also you have joppo as a willing substitute.

UPDATE:
As ZFR pointed out, there is also a new would be participant:

Wasn't there a new dude who wanted to join?
Gamerager is unable to post until the 22nd, but he agreed to put his name down temporarily.

I thought his absence was noteworthy...

Alright, sign me up as a sub.

My experience is that the title needs to show that you're actively looking for players. My "Looking for players..." for Harry Potter got us 4 new players. Lift's "Come play with us..." for Shining got 3.

A "sign-up thread for X" has proven to be more likely to be skipped by people.

I suggest that zazak ditch this signup thread and then create a fresh signup thread. For example, "BECOME ONE OF THE SULTAN'S COURT!" or something (caps not necessary)
