It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

JMich: The mystery bag is more likely to work on Windows than other OSes, so it is a gamble if you'll get a game you want.

mindblast: That's the point of it, a gamble. You pay $3 to get an $20 random game. Seems pretty good deal if you ask me.

And let's get something straight. YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO PARTICIPATE! Really. You can choose not to buy an random $3 game. You really can. If you think that your odds are not in your favor, don't participate. It's an offer, take it or leave it. I got new tires on my car. I don't participate on contests that give away free tires, even if they would be free. I don't need them.
The guy is from Western Europe, they don't think, they want, or whine later about their own decisions. Social healthcare and good life without problems and the government thinking instead of you rots your mind.

Invghost: I know you won't get a game that's in your GoG account, however I can see myself getting a ton of games that are either on Steam or Origin.
Could be done? Probably. But I see no reason why even think about such an idea. GOG is a direct competitor to Steam and doesn't work the same way as in > Humble Bundle selling Steam keys.

The two are not business partners the same way most other distribution sites are.

Bottom Line: Business and profit wise, such an idea is bad to both companies, If you don't want the same games on different platforms then simply stop buying from one side.

@JMich: If I'm not Mistaken there's already a similar system on Google Play that detects which device you're running and it works like crap (doesn't let you install certain games on specific devices). God, I hope such a system never comes to PC.

Curious, but who do you mean with this part?

I know, and it won't even allow you to buy a game without a supported device first. Thank god I managed to grab carmageddon from a different promotion, quite a bit of mindless fun on a tablet.

Doesn't it detect based on screen size and Android API version? Or are they now detecting RAM and chipset aswell?
Sorry if I'm mistaken, haven't had the motivation to learn about Android that much

I mean this: he's having a pseudoproblem as he has no real problems to think about. It's his choice to press the button. Why should GoG change anything about the system to accomodate to customers of another company? No common sense
Or maybe it's just my Eastern European slave mentality talking

Yup. North-Eastern Europe then. Not much apart from Eastern Europe. Post-Soviet country would be even a better denominator. Going to go and get myself some Sauerkraut, blood sausage and potatoes for lunch.

I think you may be right on that, there might also be a list of unsupported devices in addition. That said, I haven't dabbled much with Google Play, there are very few DRM-Free games being sold there and most of my android library comes from Humble Bundle.

JMich: Hope that did make it clearer.
That did. I was suggesting both as possibilities though. I was thinking of how Amazon lets you set devices and warns you if a purchase is for an incompatible device list, like muntdefems brought up. Though that doesn't stop you from making the purchase if you want to. The browser check was just another way to do that since they already implement it through the Library page and like you mentioned Galaxy, but not for the store. With things like quantity purchases still missing I don't expect them to get around to anything like this in the near future though.

You also seem to be immune to my baiting or I just wasn't using high enough level ones on you. But I'd still rather see you (and everyone) be more solution minded rather than dismissive. Find better ideas instead of saying "that sucks. let team blue go back to doing nothing for another year." The team that works on getting license deals shouldn't be confused with the ones that have to continually fix and improve the site/platform. It's why we continually get stuck with broken things for years.
