sauvignon1: I've been having fun switching effortlessly between my natural Southern accent and my trained neutral accent. Drives my brother nuts. Any of you changed your accent like I have?
Used to. Had relatives who'd ask if I had been to another country.
They were more than a little dim.
48 hours, 58 minutes to go. Wish it'd hurry the fuck up already.
Christmas started great this year :) The lock at the entrance door just broke so im waiting for my father to come and cut or tear the door down so that I can get out since all emergency services are already on vacation. Fabolous.

I constantly end up switching to an American accent by accident.
At a young age I blamed it on American TV.
Then later when my head got dislodged from my anus I realised you can't blame American TV for your stupid accent.
I will probably never figure out why I keep changing from my normal voice to an American voice. Sometimes I even turn into an American stoner.

It's just one of those weird, inexplicable things. What you do sounds similar to what I used to do. No rhyme or reason to it, no premeditation or doing it as a goof, it just happens.

good morning and a happy Christmas Eve to all.
allow me to make one thing clear first I am right now on the phone after having a shower to feel a little bit more human although not by much and the first thing I do is check the forums. I haven't even seen gog's main page yet, but I do know one thing isn't akallabeth a name from The Silmarillion?

PS I am writing this using Google's dictation tool, and I am very surprised to find out that's what I was saying that's not being rendered as Hollywood ice cream gophergopher.

Good morning :-) As far as I remember Akallabeth was one of the parts of the Silmarillion. Wasn't it the one about Numenor?
Welp, I am now using a proper computer, with an actual keyboard, and it's much more satisfying than waiting for my chinese cheap phone to stop having one of its seizures. It's frustrating trying to write on the forums with that thing.

Yep, you are right, it's the part about about the fall of Númenor. After the War of Wrath.

Back then, they weren't all that original when naming their games. Adventure, Moria, Angband.
Good morning, and happy Christmas Eve!

I've never heard of Akalabeth. I need to brush up on my video game history.
Is this the oldest game on GOG? Or is Zork older?

I think it is, by about 2 years. If you take the realease for this platform in consideration.

I'm off to slay some hollows, and be slayed in turn by GODDAMN METAL TURTLE ZOMBIES.

A friend just wazzup'd me. Wants to play some PoE.

j0ekerr: I'm a bit sad to see how few people seem to be left without a copy of both Witchers, no one has even staked a claim yet.
I gave my Witcher 2 key to a friend of mine since he didn't have the game yet.

adaliabooks: Coconut Ice Cream bars? There's definitely something wrong with you :P
Only thing that is wrong with him is that he isn't eating salmiak ice cream. :P

EndreWhiteMane: Geez, I like coconut and bananas, I'm a serious minority around here. OK, might as well tell ya, I like Spinach too, raw, frozen, canned, yum!
<And they all move away on the bench>
I like those aswell. I also like pistachio ice cream.

Frozen spinach from a can? That is weird. I prefer my spinach fresh.

I don't have any accent. Never had.
