Do you use your Mac for gaming, or do you game on Windows? I tend to dual-boot to Windows 7 for most of my games, as games tends to require less system requirements on Windows and seems to run better.

Good evening, dd.
No complaints here. I'm in a good mood, and I feel much better than I did this morning.

Yeah the waiting time can be annoying, imagination kicks in with strange ideas:-)
Hello, gunny!
Yeah, the imagination can be a real dick at times... I'm trying to use my mom's way of thinking though; "There's nothing I can do about it right now, so there is no point in worrying." She is a really smart lady :-)

Thanks :-) I'm sure (kinda) that it is nothing serious. I'm not too worried about it.
Invader Zim is coming back as a comic!

I'm VERY excited for this.
I have to take a moment and admit something here...

I watched a Michael Bay movie yesterday and it was actually really good.

If you want to watch a movie centered around lunatics doing really awful things to people out of deranged greed, watch Pain and Gain.

Also, remarkably, I'd say it's the best performance I've ever seen from the Rock.

I'll go back to the Doom movie every once in a great while to bask in a cheese level so high it could make people with lactose intolerance feel queasy from across the room, but this movie was actually good because of quality, not because of a "so bad it's fun to watch" type of thing.

Press and hold the alt key and enter the number on the numeric keypad, when you let go of alt it shows.
But that list doesn't have a ☃ (snowman) :-)

I like all of his movies. Of course I go into them wanting and expecting monsters and shit blowing up. So long as that's all you hope for his movies are great. :D

I even loved the commercial he did: Awesome Car! *BAM* Awesome House! *BAM* Awesome Pool! *BAM*

Fine... :-) will you let us know when you get your results ?...
I just found a setting for some more, so let me test a few. You would probably have to zoom in to see them, the last two are Pirate themed, just for Endre. :-)

I have a relatively recent MBP and do most of my gaming there. I started buying Windows only games here about a year ago and of course I have most of the catalog now.

If I didn't have a short term and middle term solution I would investigate Wine and dual booting.

Short term: I liberated an old XP laptop from our storage space at work. It's a Core 2 with 1GB RAM, but it's pretty sluggish because it's loaded with a whole suite of tax software and a good 10 years of QuickBooks. Even if I "meet the requirements" I'm having issues, except it's good for older games.

Middle term: I've been wanting to build a top tier Windows rig (with pricey GPU) since summer, but it's slightly intimidating building my own for the first time and my Mac-compatible backlog is more than satisfactory. However I'm in the middle of my "harvest" (tax season with tons of overtime pay) so now is the time. Plus most of the recent great stuff here is windows only - star wars, LEGO, Pardox, Ys, etc.

I'll likely be buying components with the March 15 paycheck. I will certainly miss the OS experience, but I'll probably just use the beast for gaming...

And here's me thinking you were talking about this Michael Bay movie called The Rock. :-)

budejovice: ...
I used to have a nice Windows gaming PC, but it died a while ago. So I have just been using boot camp and it's been fine. My computer and laptop are not the newest, so I can't play the more modern games, but they were free and they do quite well for my older games. :-)

Out of curiosity, do you have OS X Yosemite on your Mac?

Nothing wrong with that. Personally, I don't understand all the hate for him. I think it is just trendy to hate him.
I didn't enjoy Pearl Harbor or Transformers, but The Rock and Armageddon are some of my favorite movies.

Say what you will about his movies, but there is no denying that he is an incredibly passionate and dedicated director. He doesn't do things half-assed. I appreciate that about him.
