CarrionCrow: Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone. =)

Hopefully you're all having a decent weekend at the very least.

Also, can't help but notice an extra star next to my name...=)

Stilton: Congratulations on your promotion ;-)

tinyE: Is now a bad time to mention that EA is toying with the idea of charging you for gas in the upcoming NFS?

I'm not even making that up.
avatar
Stilton: Why is it that that doesn't surprise me?

I'm not a fan of the franchise, but still I wonder if there are any economists lurking in the background...
Thank you. =)

Haven't yet thought of a properly self-deprecating title, but I'm sure something will come to me after a few pots of coffee.

avatar
tinyE: I've mentioned it to several people, and it has of yet to surprise anyone.
I think after the mobile version of Dungeon Keeper, AKA "Fuck you, customers", it's even more apparent that EA will ream the shit out of anyone who'll give them half a chance to do so.

To be fair to EA they have made some appallingly bad driving games. One or two decent ones, but mostly of dubious quality and bereft of content. Their sim racing days disappeared years ago.

I'm getting off topic here but I still think the original High Stakes is the best NFS out there.
Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well today.

GhostwriterDoF: Steam is just a symptom of the overall problems we face. Technically, all the problems in the world can be directly traced back to all the Financiers and Economists who have taken over in the last 30 years, infesting themselves into the top executive positions of educational institutions (from colleges to kindergarten and school boards), Medical and health care, corporations, news and entertainment media, military, churches and government administrations. [...]

Where ever people are being taken advantage of, where ever there is suffering, you will find that it can be directly traced back to the Financiers and Economists and their minions that worship and serve them, who are the only ones that are profiting at the expense of the suffering.
Have a +1.

I wasn't aware of that one. I just YouTubed it and its the kind of thing I instinctively steer clear of (no criticism of your tastes ;-)) Reality is the thing that grabs me, real tracks, real cars, real physics, and the higher the quality the better it is.

iRacing is probably the epitome of pure sim racing at the moment, but its pay to play format and having to buy extra cars and tracks writes it off, in my opinion, particularly when there are still some really good buy once sims around with huge modding communities who are always adding new content.

Thanks for that... :)

Do try to remember that all is not lost, and the first step to any solution
is to recognize and identify the problem. After all, we have been down this road before.

As always, greetings and a good day to all.

As uncomfortable as this is, I find myself seeing truths in it...

hummer010: I've never looked at it like that! You're right, its one job where no one ever expects you to get it right!

CarrionCrow: The net result of low expectations. They've got enough tech to make NASA weak in the knees, and they still screw up so much that people expect it to be wrong.
By far the worst thing about the snowfall is that my shitty, slow, capped internet has been down since. I'm stuck browsing on my phone right now.
Ya know...it's a bit of a sad situation when you're trying to pay for groceries, but have to walk not only a cashier with a calculator, but an assistant manager, through basic multiplication and subtraction.
Good day everyone!

“Where am I going? I don't quite know.
Down to the stream where the king-cups grow-
Up on a hill where the pine-trees blow-
Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.

Where am I going? The clouds sail by,
Little ones, baby ones, over the sky.
Where am I going? The shadows pass,
Little ones, baby ones, over the grass.

If you were a cloud, and sailed up there,
You'd sail on the water as blue as air.
And you'd see me here in the fields and say:
"Doesn't the sky look green today?"

Where am I going? The high rooks call:
"It's awful fun to be born at all.
Where am I going? The ring-doves coo:
"We do have beautiful things to do."

If you were a bird, and lived on high,
You'd lean on the wind when the wind came by,
You'd say to the wind when it took you away:
"That's where I wanted to go today!"

Where am I going? I don't quite know.
What does it matter where people go?
Down to the wood where the blue-bells grow-
Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.”

You have my sympathies. I only phone browse when the power's out. Its level of obnoxiousness is too high to use it at any other point.

Hopefully the crap weather will pass swiftly so you can have improved service again.

When I had started typing it had been a few hours with no posts in here. So I thought a nice poem would be a good way to greet people who turn up later.

Good evening, Crow! *hug or handshake, whichever you prefer* :-)

My day had been great, thank you. It's been a very wonderful weekend for me.

How are you? Have you had an enjoyable weekend?

Can't complain. Trying to finish off Runner 2 right now, hoping that'll be ready for the dead games pile by the end of the day if not far sooner.
Not exactly sure what to play after I finish off the few open games I have going, but I have plenty of options, so I'll figure it out, I'm sure.

It's good to hear that you've been having such a good weekend. With all the stresses you've had to deal with, you certainly deserve it. =)
