I can't say I've tried many, just prefer TBS.
And no, with TBS I don't mean 4X like Civ. :l

I tried Civ, couldn't handle the way it threw Tutorials at me.
Closing one opened 3 others. (at least it felt like that.
Got overwhelmed/bored and quit never to come back.

I tried Civ, couldn't handle the way it threw Tutorials at me.
Closing one opened 3 others. (at least it felt like that.
Got overwhelmed/bored and quit never to come back.
You just need to read the 1,289 page manual first. Then it's easy, and you can turn off the tutorials :-p
