CarrionCrow: -grumbles...a lot...-
Well I did say a little while ago that they were working on a remake of the game. :-)

ddickinson: My weekend was quite good, thank you. I got lots done, had a really nice time, and for the most part did not have too many health problems ruining things. I am suffering a little for it today, but it was worth it.

We even managed to play and finish Brothers A Tale of Two Sons, then played a little of The Evil Within and a few hours of Fran Bow in the dark, which I am really enjoying. So my best weekend for gaming as well for quite some time. :-)
I'm happy to hear you had such a pleasant time overall. =) (The health part continues to be garbage that needs to piss off and leave you alone.)

Interesting...will have to start playing Fran Bow soon.

Thank you.

Fran Bow is definitely a lot darker than I thought, and they do something that most games don't, they have a 10 year old who kind of acts like a 10 year old, not like some adult. The game has a nice Alice in Wonderland mixed with Wizard of Oz feel to it. We are only a few hours in so far, but overall it is quite fun. Maybe not the best game ever, but good, and creepy, especially if you pick up on the undertones of the game.

----

I will be saying goodbye for the day. I have a doctors appointment I need to get ready for and some more tests that will need to be done. I seem to have lost track of time today. I hope you all have a good rest of the day. Take care!

*hugs, waves, and some random stuff*

Good to know. Really not interested in "Baby's First Horror Game", so I'm glad it's got something heavier to bring to the table.

Hope everything goes well at the doctor's. Have a good evening, talk with you later. =)

Just cutting in to say that I happen to be *quite* interested in "Baby's First Horror Game." It may be the first one I actually play to completion! ;)

ElTerprise: Has anyone of you heard about that:http://store.steampowered.com/app/489830/?snr=1_5_1100__1100 ?
So basically it's just the same game with new clothes....
õ__Ô
"Skyrim Special Edition also brings the full power of PC mods to consoles." ... Why the living pluck does it say that... on Steam?

AgentBirdnest: Among the Sleep ;-p
I've actually picked that one up in hopes that it will truly feel like a "beginner's" horror game. Plus I hear it's quite short, which will make it much more feasible. One of my biggest problems with horror games is I just get too lost in dark corridors and wind up stuck dying over and over trying to escape something while running accidental circles in the dark. I am nowhere near ready to give up on them though, as SOMA really rekindled my interest in them a while back, even if I had to finish the game by way of youtube "let's play" videos. :)

It's really short. An "evening game" - meaning it can be completed in an evening :-) I'm quite bad at getting lost in dark corridors as well, and to be honest, it did happen one or two times in Among the Sleep :-p Still, not quite as lost as I get in Amnesia*, or the ultra-corridory shooter FEAR.

Not a fan? I'm not really a "horror genre" person but I have actually played this game. Loved it.

A particularly sneaky owl snuck me with The Park recently, and I think I'll be giving that one a shot in the next couple days. I think that one's really short too, and I've been on the lookout for short games (when I have little time for gaming, playing short games and actually finishing a game now and then feels much more productive than just putting twenty minutes into my 160-hour tour of Skyrim or some such. I'm actually almost missing Skyrim now that it's been mentioned a few times... maybe I *will* wind up playing that again when the upgrade is released. :)

It's not bad, but I'm a total wuss :-p I couldn't even play it in daylight.

Ah gotcha. The last few years I've taken to "Halloween Gaming" - I'll play a scary game, lights out volume up around late-October. Amnesia was by far the best of the lot.

Only 160 hours? n__o I never got into Skyrim too much, but had a few runs of New Vegas that lasted that long. (I'm more of a sci-fi geek than a fantasy geek.)
For short games, I always take a look at Mr Sinistar's list of One Day Games. There are some lovely choices :-)

For Halloween, I'll play Costume Quest. That's about as scary as I'm willing to play ;-p

On the other hand, I do like FEAR... but I get guns in FEAR :-D

ElTerprise: Hey Crow :)
Why that grumbling? Do you even own the original?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Hey there. =)

Oh yes, I have the original. Played it for around 100 hours before I finally couldn't bullshit myself into playing anymore.

Grumbling at the general re-release garbage. More so in Skyrim's case because it's talking about being prettier, but nothing about bugs, or a shitty interface, or problems with combat, or magic being a joke compared to melee, or any of the rest of it.
But, it does have "you can get PC mod-type things on consoles". You mean console owners can now play a game that's screwed up enough that 99 percent of people feel mods are required to enjoy it in the right way now, you lazy greedy scumfucks? -facepalm-
I feel exactly the same way, including the 100 hours spent on it. :l

Well...

I liked New Vegas!

And entirely unrelated... I think I've clocked 400 hours on the steam version of DS.
And I've no way to count the time spent on the console one.

I'm scared.

I played a bit of Outlast recently, I thought it was trying a bit too hard to do jump scares.
A bit more subtlety would have served it better.
