omega64: Another insomnia sale. :P
avatar
ddickinson: That last one was not a real Insomnia sale. :-)
I guess that's true. :(
avatar
moonshineshadow: Well, perhaps a sale is coming since it is rather strange that the promo is late.
*big hug*
Doing normal and you?
Maybe they are changing the promo time to the newer US release time, so the promo will start in a few hours? But who knows with GOG.

I am glad to hear you are doing okay. I have been better, but nothing to complain about. Especially as I have a lovely evening and weekend to look forward to.

*big nearly the weekend hug*
It seems like it was just delayed: https://www.gog.com/promo/weekend_promo_paradox_stardock_150416

awww.
At least they're saving me money.
The only game I'm remotely interested in is Pillars of Eternity.

I haven't bought it due to maybe wanting all extras.
They're not providing any upgrades so I'd need to buy the most expensive one. :l

So are you waiting for the ultimate version of the game to reach a good price before you get the game? I wonder why they won't sell the extras as an upgrade?

I have no clue. :l
Yeah, I would've bought the standard edition quite a while ago if they had offered upgrades.
I'm waiting for the Ultimate edition to get cheaper.
A very, very sleepy hello to you fine folks!

*oh, and to Agent, yes, 94 is an excellent character creation roll in a D&D game like Baldurs Gate. Points to spend on things like Strength, Intelligence, Widsom, etc... you'd probably have to have some rpg's under your belt to make any sense of it though. :)

I've reached a point in BGEE where I *could* go pick up Minsc at any moment, but I'm not sure I'm ready to take on his timed quest just yet, so I'm just clearing a few areas to try and reach level 2. I almost want to pick him up first so he can hit level 2 in my party, but I'll likely just die trying to do his quest before the timer's up if I don't just wait and recruit him a bit later.

I'm thinking I'll likely spend much of the morning playing Stories: Path of Destinies. It's quite enjoyable and has a nice, casual feel. The writing is quite endearing and it's perfect for little 20-40 minute bursts of play.

I hope you all have a lovely day today! Nothing special planned on this end, outside of listening to some new records (I got a couple box sets I'm quite thrilled about, so I'll have music to keep me busy for a while) and having some fun with the pup.

Have a wonderful day!
*hugs and waves all around*

Thanks! I hope you enjoy your day as well. I'm also pretty disappointed we were never given an option on GOG to upgrade to the higher tier editions of Pillars of Eternity. I was a kickstarter backer and loved the game, and would probably have dropped the coin on upgrading just to get extras here for the convenience of it. Not if it means buying the game again, though. :)
Namaste Madams and Misters!

Thank you akh! - I was reading about your BG EE character creation and went to check out if that discount was still available :) - never played through BGs - only Bee Gees songs maybe :P

5,50 eur for the two of them, was a pretty good deal... for the 'owned the originals' thing.

blast it, I'm too tired... maybe after work, around midnight, have time to start playing some game :)

Good morning, lovely Mr Akhliber!
I have never played the D&D games, so don't know the rules. My RPG resume is very short : Dungoen Siege (which is more of a screensaver than an RPG ;-p), Torchlight, Bethesda titles, and Shadowrun (probably the only "real" RPG on this list :-))

I hope you have a lovely-as-pluck day! Sometimes the best days are the ones with nothing planned :-)

Hello there! Glad you were able to get them at a good discount! They're quite fun. I think Baldur's Gate and Myst were likely my first pc games that hooked me, before I moved over from consoles years ago. I hope you are able to get some rest *and* some gaming in after work :)

Normanstate to you too.
Hmmm... You give me an idea for a new forum title :-p

Only if you include Bee Gees songs.

Good morning, lovely Agent! I hope you're doing well! :) You'll notice I mentioned you instead of *reading back through the thread* to find my old post. ;)

I absolutely adored Dungeon Siege, and I think "screensaver" is a perfect description of the game. It pretty much plays itself, but damn, was it fun for a long, long time. It's not often I find games that I play over and over, but that was one of them. I enjoyed Torchlight, but found TL2 much better. A bit repetitive, but good click-things-make-them-explode fun. I've adored Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall, but have yet to give Hong Kong an earnest go. I honestly don't remember if I played the original years ago. I knew I'd heard of it, but that's all I remember. :)

A nothing-planned day is quite nice sometimes indeed. It's rainy out, which makes for a sleepy pup, so I'm planning on taking my favorite headphones into the living room and listening to some records that way. What's odd is that, as obsessed as I get with music and with audio quality, I've only listened to my good headphones with my portable audio player and with my pc, and I've only heard most of my records through the speakers I've had with most of this stereo setup since 1995. I have no clue why it hasn't occurred to me sooner to take my headphones out there and have some focused listening sessions instead of floorspeaker dance parties, especially considering one of the speakers has a tear in it and I can't turn it too loud without nasty buzzing sounds as a result.
Wait, I guess that means I *do* have a plan now. Well that just takes the fun right out of things. ;)
