Question for Crow, and any other Shadowrunners... I'm planning to start Hong Kong soon. I'm thinking of playing as a decker/rigger. I must deck - that is non-negotiable ):-| ... and I've never really tried rigging before, so I want to give it a go. But would this combo be a bad idea? It seems like it would be a "double support" type character, with no primary weapon.

No, it's not a bad idea. Intelligence is the base attribute needed for everything decking and rigging related. Your skills aren't going to be as good in either as they'd be if you specialized, but the rigger skill adds on combat options you don't get any other way. The closest equivalent is a shaman summoning spirits, but without the risk of losing control and having your former ally attack you. ...

Your primary combat focus will probably be getting a drone with good weapons to serve as your attack.
One last thing to consider, just in case it bugs you - one of the characters you link up with is a rigger as well, and their drone is one of a kind. It might make your combat options feel inferior by comparison.

akhliber: "Making dinner" just turned into "ordering pizza." The lady and I have no regrets. We have to get up and head to the DMV tomorrow morning to renew the registration on the car, so to celebrate, we're having an extra-lazy evening. :)
Empress_Owl: Pizza !!!! \o/ ... Oh... wait.... i'm not invited. ):"|

Ah, that's right. Both being under Intelligence is a big plus. It won't split my karma points as badly as Decking/Rifle would (I regretted that one after a while) :-p Your primary combat focus will probably be getting a drone with good weapons to serve as your attack.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll go with Decker/Rigger anyway though :-)

Not a problem. As a bonus, you'll have plenty of intelligence to stack up at least a bit of biotech if you want, make your med kits better.
