adaliabooks: The sketch shows were good but those two movies... they are so funny. I think they should pretty much be compulsory watching.
I'm gonna have to get the DVD of their reunion at some point, although it will be lacking something with out Graham Chapman :(

ddickinson: I did like the movies more than the series overall, but there were some very funny scenes in the T.V. series. I have not seen the reunion show, it seemed to be just them repeating old jokes. I think you are right though about Graham Chapman, without him it just wouldn't be Monty Python.
Graham Chapman was hilarious. He would have made a fantastic Rincewind. David Jason did a good job, but he's not how I pictured Rincewind.

ddickinson: Do you keep all the books you buy? Or do you get rid of them once you have read them? I keep mine, which is how I ended up with so many. Every so often I get rid of some, but then I just by more to read to replace them.

moonshineshadow: I keep all my books. But I also re-read books very often. There are even some books in danger of falling apart because I read them so often.
Of course I have a few which I did not really like and I am often thinking I should get rid of them but somehow I could not convince myself to really do it.
I tend to try to give away the things I don't like. Sometimes I buy a CD or a book on a whim and I end up not liking it at all, and when that happens I try to find a friend or family member that's interested in the item so it doesn't go to waste. It's usually succesful, but there are a couple of things I just can't seem to get rid of. Like some really ugly jewelry I was given for my birthday a few years ago. So far, I haven't managed to find anyone who actually likes it. :P

I often wondered why Chapman was usually the main star in the movies (Arthur in Holy Grail, Brian in Life of Brian). But I think it was because he could pull it off and was the best choice out of the Pythons.

Hey there! *hug*

I'm pretty good. My brain feels like it's melting, though. I had to work on a translation for three hours or so, and on top of that I've slowly been working my way through about 200 texts I had to grade this weekend for my job. Still have about a 100 to go before Friday. On the upside, I'm going to do some pretty fun things this week. I have a pub quiz tomorrow and I'm going to a play on Thursday.

Sorry to hear about your workload. It can't be easy translation for three hours and grading all those texts. Me and my partner love going to see plays. What kind of play are you going to see?

At least it's a job, though I have yet to see any money. Universities' administrations are notoriously slow. :P

I really love plays as well! I'm going to see Shakespeare's "As you like it". I'll be travelling to England in May for a course on plays, and I'll be seeing it in the Globe theatre then as well. My professor thought it would be a good idea if we went to this production as well (although it's in Dutch) in order to be able to compare them later. Next month, I'll be seeing Romeo and Juliet, and the month after that it's an adaption of King Lear - only with a queen instead of a king this time. And the month after that I'll be heading to England to see yet more plays. :P
