EndreWhiteMane: My Lordship, the smokers are revolting!
avatar
gunsynd: Good Morning Endre,
Had to put out my smoke first:-)
LOL!

EndreWhiteMane: My Lordship, the smokers are revolting!
avatar
moonshineshadow: Huh? Explain :D
Line from Monty Python.

"My Lordship, the peasants are revolting!"

"Yes, I know."

:-)
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Endre is fine.
Glad to hear you survived the weekend without a jail term being involved. I wouldn't have fared as well.
Wonderful that your mum is home.
I'm glad to hear you are doing fine. I would not give them the enjoyment of me doing something silly that would get me in trouble, they are not worth it. Plus I had important things planned for today, so I wasn't about to get in any trouble.

Anything fun planned for the day?

ddickinson: I feel much the same way. My semi-jokey comment was because most people seem to deem smoking so deadly, while not really considering the dangers of too much alcohol. Just think of how many people suffer because of too much alcohol. You don't get people high on nicotine damaging property, assaulting people, robbing people, killing people. And yet this is still seen as more acceptable in many places than smoking. While I think both are bad habits (having a drink is fine, but too much is definitely not), I feel that alcoholism should be a bigger priority over smoking.

Also, sorry gunsynd. I really am not meaning anything personal against you, or anyone who smokes or drinks. I hope you won't think we are now the anti-smoking lets kill the smokers thread. *sorry hug* :-)

penumbren: On a different note, I'm finally making some progress on these freelance work sites. I just need to figure out what to do for my portfolio now!
avatar
ddickinson: Congratulations! I hope things keep progressing and soon all the hard work will pay off. *congratulation hug* :-)
*nod* I spent over eight years working in corrections, so my view of smoking is a bit jaundiced at this point - compared to all the other things out there, it's minor. Still, addiction is never a good thing.

*hugs back* I just have to figure out what I can put up for a portfolio piece, and how bidding works, and then start crossing my fingers.

ddickinson: I guess emotional wimps might have been worded wrong, but I'm sure people know what I mean. We live in a culture where people seem to find everything offensive, especially if they can try to sue someone over it.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: It can work in comedy too, if the timing is right.

Litigiousness is a modern societal sickness, run rampant and unfettered, one of the fingers of greed, celebrated among the so called elites and their worshipers... it's not for regular good hearted folk. ;)

gunsynd: In Australian workforce,Non-Australian's play with the Racist theme and actually get away with it.Even through the person involved was not being Racist the Manager's still take their side. It's a bit like Guilty until proven Innocent...
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Perhaps it's the Australian accent (in speaking)? ;)
No,last five years in Australian Workforce has become a Human Relations nightmare..

Had a pork cutlet, eggs, roasties and toast for breakfast. Played a little Xulima and Sunless Sea.
About all the fun I can take for one day. :-)

Everyone needs to watch some Monty Python, nothing else in the world quite like it.
It's British humour run completely amok! :-)

Seems like workforces worldwide are in a shambles these days, and it is surely unsustainable,
just as the winds of change are beginning to pick up in these uneasy but interesting historical times...

At least everyone should try, and if not the show, certainly try to watch some of the movies. :)

I was raised with a healthy dose of British humor, as me own mum was born in England.

unsustainable sure is...
Crow/Gunny/Adalia does your character in Xulima stagger around like a drunk even when running?
Mine does and it drives me nuts. Wonder if it's my machine, the S$#@! client or just the way it is.
It just doesn't fit with the nice graphics and soundtrack.
