Once adventure games were like discworld and nowadays there are telltale games. I kinda like those too but I wouldn't call them adventure games. i would call them story based stuff

l0rdtr3k: Doing awesome.
That is good to hear, and the day is still going, so have more fun! :-)

avatar
LeoLR: Why not add your text as a review in the game page?
Maybe, but it would probably be best to finish the game first to have a full idea of it from start to finish.

avatar
FearfulSymmetry: That's the sense I got of it as well. At the moment I'm not quite convinced, so I might wait for the price to drop a little lower eventually. Or until my backlog decreases a bit. :)
Good idea. Although I like it, and it reminds me of Year Walk which I also liked, it is definitely not a must have game, so waiting for a sale sounds good.
avatar
ddickinson: Thank you for the review. I think I will leave it on my wishlist for now, as it does seem an interesting concept. It seems like another game that was trying something different but was just too short. I guess if they dragged it on just for the sake of it it could spoil the game. I will

How are you, are you feeling any better?
I think it's a good purchase, but unless it's something you're very interested in you might as well wait until it's 50% off or so. :) I think a lot of time probably went into the writing and the filming, and as such I understand that it's a bit short. You're probably right in saying that drawing it out endlessly might just make it worse.

So-so. I had a pretty severe nosebleed and it's still not quite gone. I hope it's better tomorrow, as the bleeding is not supposed to last very long (otherwise I'll have to return to the hospital :P). And I have to rinse my nose with water 2-4 times a day - I just tried it for the first time a few hours ago and it hurt a lot. I may have dropped to my knees for a bit there. :P But I expect that'll get easier in a few days.

How are you doing? Starting to feel a bit sleepy yet? *sending sleepy thoughts your way*

I think I own Year Walk on Steam, but I haven't actually tried it yet. Picked it up in a bundle as I recall. May need to give that a shot soon. :)

They're definitely not adventure games. :P I really like them but it's more like a highly polished visual novel.

I really hope you like getting hugged because guess what's going to happen to you right now?
avatar
j0ekerr: That is one looong post, I'll need a few minutes to read it.
avatar
ddickinson: Ah yes, I forgot this was the internet, but I suck at all that abbreviated text talk. :-)

avatar
Antimateria: what a wall of text.. but I think I will read it.. infact now. You better hope it's interesting. =P
avatar
ddickinson: Prepare to be uninterested then. :-)

avatar
l0rdtr3k: *grabs DD and pleases her with hugs*
Want some Black Forest cake later?
avatar
ddickinson: I think I will pass on the cake for now, but that means you get my piece, so more for the birthday boy! :-)

How is your birthday going?

*big birthday hug*
More like I turned off the desktop computer which by the way suddenly rebooted on me without warning and switched to my phone which let me tell is not a very comfortable device to read , I long for the tablet I raved about weeks earlier but I digress.
So your review more or less confirms what I thought about the , beautiful and artsy but I suspected it to be somewhat lacking in the gameplay department.
I'm sorry to hear about your migraines, and that you seem to be having even more problems on top of those you already have nothing much I can do except wish you the best.
PS: my mobile is a frustrating pile of stinking Chinese manure

Do you think the game would work with extra cases? Maybe a DLC with new interviews? Would that work, or would the way the game works just get boring?

Fingers crossed you are better by tomorrow, if not we will get Agent to burn something :-). I hope it will stop soon so you don't have to go back into hospital. You will get used to the pain of the washes, but it will most likely still hurt a lot. *big comforting get well soon hug*

I am, well I have been better, today took a less than nice turn this evening, but nothing to worry about, just more crap life likes to throw at me. I am getting a bit more tired, hopefully in an hour or so I will be tired enough to get some sleep.

I got Year Walk from a bundle as well. It is a nice little game, but some of the puzzles are hard. There is a hidden ending as well, and a fair bit of text on the different Swedish customs and things. Overall it was a fun game, and for the low bundle price definitely worth it. I got it with a Japanese Origami type game as well (I can't remember the name), and that was good, although not as good as Year Walk as there was not much to the Origami game.

What is wrong with Remembrance Day? Ah, maybe it is not the same in Germany?

And how are you this evening?

The game is okay, I do like it, but as with most games of its type that try new things it has a long way to go. On a good sale it is worth it, I think so at least, but not for the full asking price.

Thank you for the kind words.

It could work in the sense that I'm not bored of the mechanic yet, but any DLC might as well be a completely new game, because I don't really see any way they could continue with the story they established here. If they wanted to do that I think they'd have to go for a completely new storyline/characters. But I wouldn't mind seeing more games in a similar vein.

Yep, I hope so too! :) I'd prefer not to go back again so soon. :P And yeah, right now there are some pretty fresh burn wounds in there, so it's kind of logical the rinses hurt, but once it's healed up a bit I think it should be better. :) *thank you hug*

Sorry to hear that. :( *kicks life for being evil* Hopefully you'll manage to find some rest soon, at least..

Hm, it sounds pretty good (especially for the price, as you say). I'll bump it up on the backlog list. :P

St. Martin's day or whatever it's called in your neck of the woods? :) I've been lucky these past few years, the kids don't stop by my house as there are mostly students living in our neighborhood. And they don't feel like climbing a set of stairs. :P

Well you could just be assigned a new case to investigate in the DLC. I think it would sell better as a DLC than a new game, given the short length.

I know how you feel, I never like being in hospital, I have seen enough of them for a lifetime these last few months. Let's hope by the morning you are feeling a lot better. *more get well soon hugs*

I am sure once my brain slows down a little I will be able to get some rest, at the moment I have a lot of things racing through my mind.

It is not a long game, Year Walk, but the art style is nice, the puzzles challenging (especially the musical one), but I like the amount of information there is on the folk lore, especially at the end with the secret ending and the item you unlock. There is not a lot of information when you compare it to a book on the subject, but for a game there is a lot, if that makes sense.

Well it is St. Martin's day here and also at 11:11 at the 11.11. the beginning of the carnival -.-
At least i'm pretty safe here up North but the media will be flooded by it soon.....with the "highlight" beginning of next year...

Can't complain here :)

That is good to hear. Is can't complain on the same level as good, or just okay? :-)
