j0ekerr: So because of this pain I'm not going to play games, last thing I need is to make it worse by crouching forward on my chair. I think I'll give Son's of Anarchy a try. I read the summary and it seemed made of awesome.
Fair warning - it starts out being made of decent with the occasional really good, but ends up being made of hey look someone just took a shit in my brain and I can't get it out.

Breaking Bad, it is NOT.

toxicTom: Yeah! And re-watching Firefly with my wife. Fucking awesome series. It's inconceivable it was cancelled after only one season.
When you factor in FOX executives...

And the only appropriate response is.

Since you're the flight sim dude, what do you think of F-117A NIGHTHAWK STEALTH FIGHTER 2.0 vs B-17 FLYING FORTRESS: THE MIGHTY 8TH? Those seem to be my top two choices for this promo, with Redline being third.

I'd say go with F-117A. I've had the steam version of b-17 and I cannot memorize all the damned controls that game has, either I've partied way too much in my life, or it's even more complicated than even I can handle.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll be picking F-117A up. The only other flight sim experience I have is with IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 and the Ace Combat series on the Ps2, and it's a genre I'm fairly interested in.

I love Il-2, that is a damned good game. I love watching the dogfight of the ME-262 on that game.

NoNewTaleToTell: I'm a fan of Joss Whedon (specifically Buffy/Angel) but I've never seen Firefly and space-y scifi shows can be iffy to me. A local store has the complete series on sale for about 9 bucks, would you recommend it?
Go for it! It's really a masterpiece. Just that "the whole series" means only 14 episodes. The (cinema) movie Serenity is the conclusion.
and a big *yay* for Buffy. One of my most beloved shows ever.
I ran into some mines on silent service 2. xD

I've never played the PC version, only F-19 Stealth Fighter on Amiga (it's the 1.0 version). It's a damn fine game and I especially liked the "cold war" campaign, that is really playing hide and seek with the radar (be sure to read the extensive manual).
That said, flight sims are one genre where I have become a "graphics whore". I just can't cope with blocky VGA HUDs and pyramid hills anymore - kills my immersion or "suspension of disbelief". But if that's no hindrance for you - go ahead, it's a terrific game.

I hope they were gold mines?

On flight sims, I absolutely loved f-19 stealth fighter DOS version it was one of my first PC games ever. I'm not too much of a graphics hoe in general but F-117A does look better than F-19.

I always thought Gothic 3 looks better than Oblivion, Two Worlds or any other similar game from that era, and heck I still think it looks great today. Apparently there is an ENB for it, I'll have to try it and grab some new screenshots, these are from vanilla Gothic 3 at max settings.
