LeoLR: Here Stilton.

A nice and short review video of Deus Ex.
Thank you, Leo - I'll give that a look.

CRAZY review! But good. In a manic way it told me what I wanted to know :-)

ElTerprise: *sigh* *prepares the ARK to restore Agent's brain* ;)
Ho no, don't zap my brain. I've had enough electroconvuslive therapy for the next few lifetimes :-p
I'll stay exploded, thanks :-)

I had no intention to zap your brain. The ARK works differently....more like collecting the pieces and putting them together again....or alternatively recreating it from scratch :)

Stilton: It puzzles me a bit too. A cult game, on most best ever lists - and I'd rather play Plants vs Zombies.
Well that's totally normal. I could (and have) play PvZ for several hundred hours :-p
Oddly enough, Deus Ex is one of only two or three games that I've played more than PvZ ;-)

Ah... I see. I was imagining it was something like a defibrillator (from the movies of course, not a real one ;-p)
In that case, go ahead. I'd love a fresh brain from scratch :-)

Ixamyakxim: Ah thanks, this is good for me to hear! I thought HR might have elicited similar opinions to Invisible War from fans of the first game. Glad to know that even lovers of Deus Ex found HR to be a nice addition to the series.
avatar
AgentBirdnest: I rarely hear anything bad about HR, except for the out-of-place boss fights. For players who like to go stealth or kill-free, it totally messes up their playstyle. I think this was improved in the director's cut though. Otherwise, I hear plenty of people saying it is nearly as good or even better than the original, and I'd agree (with "nearly" ;-))
DE: Human Revolution and Deus Ex 1 have the same weight on my scale of good games. I like them equally.
You are right, Agent, about the bosses in the director's cut version of DE:HR. It has more options to deal with them instead of only the "fill the thing with bullets" present in the original release.

Ah the famous inaccurately used defibrillator from movies....well if i understand it correctly you didn't die - your brain just exploded....:P
*sets up ARK* *scans brain pieces and creates a carbon copy* Done! :P

Glad you liked it.
These Zero Punctuation reviews doesn't show the games directly but oddly enough they tell me about some games more than some lengthy reviews on text or video.

That's good to know! I didn't get far enough in the director's cut before stopping, because it was running just a little too slowly for comfort on my too-old PC. Looking forward to doing another playthough (or 7 :-)) in the future.

Aww... You had to do the carbon copy? Couldn't you have infused some James Cameron into my brain or something? :-p

I've got that Wednesday feeling - kind of a withdrawal because I haven't bought anything in a while and I want a bargain. I really could do with a sale sometime soon, just to scratch that consumer itch.
Ok. Today is movie night. I'm going out to watch The Martian.
See you sometime later!

Ask him if there's really water up there!

Have fun :-)

You want to that song don't you? :P
I'm sorry but that functionality was a pre-order exclusive for the ARK - maybe it'll be made available as a DLC in the future :P

LOL I'm going to have to hope against you on this one! I'm getting one of my big "wishes" next week that I'll most likely pick up sooner rather than later (a "pirate" RPG, albeit one set in space where the "character" is a capital class vessel!) and I want a bit of time to play that. Plus, I already have a "scary season" game lined up for Halloween time that I can't wait to settle in with, lights out bourbon barrel beer in hand for any nights when outdoor / out and about holiday fare isn't lined up.

What's your Halloween game?

Halloween's a blast. I'm getting all expectant even now. A couple of films in the planning, some 'Unofficial Beer of Halloween' ready to go, and appropriate foodstuffs. A bit of pumpkin carving and then settle in for some pleasant scares.
