CarrionCrow: Hmm. Sounds like the difficulty curve turned into a brick wall. Is there anywhere you can get additional XP, maybe better items, something to stop the enemies from kicking your teeth in so much?
I don't think so - I think each area remains "empty" after I clear it. The odd part is, it's been this way since fairly early on in the game. I'm really, really hoping I must have "broke" my character build or I'm missing an important stat I should be focusing on when it comes to equipment, because almost since the start of the game it seems like a vast amount of my time is spent just clicking "Respawn... Die... Respawn... Die..." I can solve every encounter this way... Hell I bet I could go through the rest of the game this way... but man is it not fun at all to do that. And there's enough there to make me want to find a way by this before I give up on it :(

Maybe check out some guides on character builds, they might be able to point to some area that's leaving a weakness for enemies to exploit?

The subforum here is a bit dead and I'm torn between making a post in the General Forum. I THINK tomorrow during more "peak hours" here I might try bumping the "Release" thread as a last resort and hoping for a few pointers from people who have put some time in. Usually I'd just chalk it up as a game that I'm done with, but I'm not ready to do that yet as I feel like if I can "figure this out" there'd be a lot to like!

*edit And I'm calling it a night! Thanks for chatting and the pointers!

Would suggest caution on that one. You might end up with people being bitchy, obnoxious assholes rather than getting the info you're hoping for.

At worst, would suggest putting it on hold for a bit since you've still got a positive attitude about the whole thing.

Not a problem. Have a good night, sleep well. =)
Wonderful morning ya'll! ;)
Hmmm a few things come to mind concerning van helsing 2, but more of the general sort since I haven't ever touched that series... like resistances, do those play a part in the game? Are the monster attacks based on some element that the character's protection isn't covering properly?

Good morning. =)

In the same boat here. Haven't gotten around to playing it, so I'm stuck trying to give advice based on general information.

Ah okay :) was trying to guess the level of detail the game goes with character builds :)
But it could be a whole different thing...

Hi
I know a lot of folks here who don't care about graphics, heck I don't usually care myself. However graphics generally are the first thing you experience when checking out a game. That brings me to a few questions regarding taking a chance on a game made by complete unknown devs.

Skipping the games where the devs obviously stole assets for their art, assuming the game's summery and blurb etc sound good, when are the graphics enough to make the game seem "legitimate" and therefore maybe worth a few of your dollars?

What about the games where the devs use obvious stock/royalty free graphic supplements like character models, tilesets etc, does that influence your decision to take a chance on the game? How about the ones where the devs tried to do the art themselves but it looks like a "Beginner's Guide To Microsoft Paint" example?
Good Morning, everybody! *hugs and waves*

Well, it usually depends on how much the graphics really hurt my eyes - I like VVVVV, for example. But usually I'm not the one who tries out games I haven't heard much about. I wait until I get recommendations that tell me the game is cool, no matter what the graphics look like.

Irenicusss: Hi
Who the f**k are you? And why is your total vocabulary made up of two letters. "H" and "I".

-1 for being inane.

I'm mostly a nice guy but, please people give this guy a minus one kick in the teeth for me.

Yo! :)
For me with.graphics a big no-no comes if they seem borrowed...
I need to feel that there is at least one graphician involved doing stuff for that game.
The visual look is important but I don't mind old looks like gemini rue type pixels...

That is very sad to hear :'-(. I hope it is nothing serious that is keeping you away, and I hope we will see you soon. The place would not be the same without or wonderful and lovely French Owl here.
