Stilton: That's interesting. I did NaNoWriMo a few years ago and was amazed at how quickly and easily my novel emerged. The plot really did talk itself into life (like Ray Bradbury said, its something you discover
after you have written) and when it came to the end I felt genuinely tearful at having to say goodbye to my characters. The NaNoWriMo experience is really worth taking part in - I'm glad you reminded me as I think I'll do it again this year ;-) Thanks!
FearfulSymmetry: Oh fun! You should give me your user name if you participate again this year, I can add you as a writing buddy! Yep, NaNo is really awesome, it's the only time of year I actually get some serious writing done. :P I love having a deadline, it's the motivation I need to keep writing. I'm definitely a planning kind of person, though - I tend to make an outline before NaNo starts so I know exactly what I have to write. Without an outline I have trouble bringing my stories to a coherent ending. :P
I'll make an account and send you my user name. Great news! And just the encouragement I need to write another book-length piece.
I'm a non-planner, I think because I always have numerous ideas and if I write something down in note form it feels somehow second hand and I don't like using it. When I wrote my novel I had a first line and a very scanty idea of the push the story needed to get going, and that was all. After that I let the characters tell me where to go and what they needed do. It was a truly wonderful experience. I'm really happy I've found another writer who has done the same thing and had a similar experience :-)
l0rdtr3k: *sneaks up on Owl and hugs her*

LaPtiteBete: He's doing fine thanks...

**big hug**
Stilton: Would you believe me if I said no one has ever sent me a picture like that before?
LaPtiteBete: Oops, sorry... no more inappropriate wombat poop pics, I promise.
Don't be sorry, it made me laugh, so thank you ;-)
