GreenDamsel: Eh. I don't like cultural appropriation, but more because I think it's a sign for a lack of confidence, if you believe that you have to steal an identity instead of using the one you were born with.
Then again you should always remember that stupid people protect themselves with false claims of racism, sexism or whatever else they can find, because they need society to defend them.
l0rdtr3k: I like japanese culture as well as afro culture but Brazil is such a mix of different cultures that we never raise hell when someone is interested in a different culture.
Like a friend of mine, who is black(sorry I should say "afro-brazilian"), that enjoys germanic and portuguese cousine and arts.
That's not bad.
How about this game for groups of foreigners in the US:
Example will be about a German guy.
5 points if an American tells you how "He is actually German as well".
10 points if he advises you to go to a local "pretzel" stand, because they are "literally the best".
20 points if he attempts to speak German with you and fails at it.
25 points for "The Oktoberfest in [State X] is the best there is"
40 Points if they want to show you their Lederhosen.
65 points if he attempts to speak German with you and succeeds in actually doing so.
200 points if she wants to show you her Dirndl at her place.
First to 150 points wins.
