EndreWhiteMane: Best news of the day: DD is getting better! :-)
Coming out of ICU alive after that long a stay is cause for celebration.

Odd news: GOG has disabled some gifting.
Every gift not sold takes money directly out of their pocket, the problem must be very bad.
This is something they wouldn't do unless they had to.

Odder news: Moon used the 'F' word again. :-O
Hello Endre...i'm still trying to catch up on the thread but i read that already. That is really great and makes me happy although i'm still infuriated by #GiftGate ^^....

Good afternoon Tom *big hug* :)
avatar
moonshineshadow: I think they are doing this because of the problem with keyseller sites. But what makes me angry is, that first, they would only need to block gifting for the regions where the games are totally cheap. And second (what makes me really angry), is that they did not tell us. No we had to find out on our own and they are not even commenting on it. They should have told us clearly "Sorry for the moment we'll disable gifting on these games for these reasons"
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I can think of a couple of reasons they might do it this way. They might want to try to 'trick' who is doing it.
Or, there may (are) lawyers involved. :/
*big hug* You are probably right. But I think it should have been possible to post a message here once they implemented it. Because it is not like something like this stays hidden for long.

EndreWhiteMane: Always wondered what fiddlesticks actually were. :-)

Thanks for the lesson... I was wondering too, but was far too lazzy to check :-D \o/
**big feeling-less-stupid hug**

Ho... in that case, in what communication about it would be bad ?... people would have noticed the gifts are blocked anyway after a couple of hours, wouldn't they ?... :-|

I agree on both points :)
Hearing from DD put a huge smile on my face...
and I'm pissed about this new unexpected ninja-restriction...
Wanna burn something to the ground ?... stay there... I know a specialist ;-)
I'm fine, thanks ! ... even if tired as pl*ck

Reasonable reply I think.
I always try to remember that the forum 'regulars' are only a tiny percentage of GOGs customer base.
If the 'general' part of the forum ceased to exist very little would change for GOGs bank accounts.
Sad, but true. ;)

Hopefully it'll be only temporary....but a reasonable response nonetheless

Yep, that is true. But I still wish they would take time to post a message like this when they are implementing important things and not hours later.
One more amazing fact:
This is the first time I ever remember putting on sweats in August.
Mother Nature has apparently lost her calendar this year. :/

Sounds like the 'forum relations' people are just finding out themselves.
I've been there more than a few times myself. ;)

Oh wow. Here the weather is also strange. After this awfully and unnormal heat wave we head we now have most of the time normal temperatures. Except for today where it has been raining so much that half the street is flooded at the house I am living...

Yeah :D Don't know if there is this saying in English but we have this "The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing"

It's definitely odd, it was 11C here when I woke up instead of the usual 21 or so.

We have the exact same "One hand doesn't know what the other is doing" :-)

Best news I heard in ages! Here's to a swift and full recovery, and let that be the last of her health, or otherwise, troubles.

Cheers for sharing.
