ElTerprise: Sounds quite good. What OS are you running on it? Debian?
Yep. Couldn't be arsed to use a different one, really. :D (although I did leave some free space when setting up my partitions in case I wanted to experiment)

SalarShushan: snip
Thanks :) It doesn't have "overkill gamer" specs, but it should work fine for my purposes.

Out of curiosity. How to deal with switchable graphics with Linux. I'm asking because i have an Ideapad Y580 with switchable graphics and i want to install Linux next to Windows on it...

EndreWhiteMane: Nice! Except for maybe the video it has more horsepower than my desktop. ;)
Eh? What's your GPU?

On my W500 I can do it from BIOS. I know nothing about IdeaPads though.

which reminds me, I should see how my Intel integrated GPU does with gaming some time

ATI 3650 with 1GB DDR3, a little lower spec but more RAM, hence the 'maybe'.

Oops, make that ATI 2600, YOU have the 3650. :-)

I could have gotten 512 VRAM instead of 256 had the graphics card been a Mobility FireGL V5700. Probably not missing out on much though, given the type of games that I plan on playing.
Alright folks. Going to sleep now. Good night. See you all tomorrow :)

I think you'll do very well. You may also find the Intel has a lot more going for it than you might think.
Some games played MUCH better on the onboard Intel than on the ATI, you have the luxury of switching between them. Very nice. :-)

Hold on a minute..... I just went to BIOS to try switching to the Intel GPU, when I had soon realized I made a mistake...

I wasn't using the ATI discrete GPU, I've been using the Intel integrated GPU all along! O_O

I realized that even more when I fired up Terraria. It was running even faster all of a sudden.

hehehehehehehehe

Now you're REALLY happy with your new toy aren't you?
Love it when stuff like that happens. :-)
It's a new month. Only two more to go and summer can fuck off for another year. =)

I've given up caring what month it is. First day of July and it was a lovely 69 degrees, sunny and breezy.
Pretty much have to take the weather a day at a time around here anymore. ;)

One thing I almost forgot. If I'm remembering correctly, you enjoyed the new Shadowgate.
The old one is on sale, you can rent it for under a dollar.
