I just read the last few bits of the thread and saw your initial post about this. I am so sorry to hear about all the red tape! I sincerely hope your friend gets the treatment they need and that it helps. I can't even imagine how stressful and heartbreaking it must be to have to sit back and wait for something like that. *sending positive thoughts and internet hugs*

This wishlist? Please keep in mind, it's more my "this looks interesting" list. Well... I suppose the top 20 or so are actually "most wanted," but that's about it for prioritizing.

On a different note, which might even make you smile: My husband has been reading the Eragon series, which I have not read. He's almost done with the third book, and decided to rewatch the movie this afternoon. (He'd seen it before reading any of them. I have not read them or watched the movie.) He just paused the movie with a short rant about "If you were going to make a drinking game for this movie, you'd have two choices: Drink for anything they got right, or drink for anything they got wrong. The latter would be the quickest," followed by a sigh and, "Before I can finish this movie, I'm going to have to go have a cigarette. And maybe some drain cleaner."

I'm guessing it's a pretty terrible movie. *g*

I'm surprised that the rest of the Millennium titles are not higher up.

HypersomniacLive: I've not read any of the books, but I've watched that movie, and let me tell you that even without having read the books it's very flat and utterly uninteresting thing to sit through - it must be one of Irons' most wooden performances ever.

CarrionCrow: Backtracking is a potential problem since you have random encounters to deal with until you exhaust them all, and random encounters can still be fatal.

CarrionCrow: Other impressions....there are mini-games for lockpicking and trap disarming, neither of which are obnoxious.

Ixamyakxim: I like the sound of that (games that "tone down" or cap random encounters when you level beyond them, as opposed to a constant barrage)

Ixamyakxim: I know some RPG purists might knock me for saying this, but I kind of like skillset minigames. Not to say I don't enjoy a straight percentage to open / disarm "click" and done, but minigames can be a fun change of pace if well implemented. Thanks for the feedback!

CarrionCrow: Okay....still playing Lords of Xulima, and I'm seeing the annoying bits to go along with the better stuff.

I've been playing this all day long for the most part, I'm still in the first area, I've gotten killed six times, the urge to save constantly gets strong after you get wiped out repeatedly, and there's a lot of combat.
Also, my characters tend to not be able to hit worth a damn in melee, so my mage is doing some serious heavy lifting when it comes to dealing damage.
(Besides that, I seem to have somehow gotten stuck with the most useless paladin I have ever seen in an RPG. Keeping her dumb ass healed is my cleric's primary job at all times since she takes shots to the face like there's a frigging bullseye tattooed on her forehead.)

I could mention more, but I don't want to spoil the fun (and by fun I mean occasionally infuriating) bits I've dealt with in-depth. I'll just leave those for people to find on their own. =)

gunsynd: I'll make it harder Crow,I don't know if you can see your players stats or not depends on the version.In the stats it tells you exactly how many times any of your characters are killed.The game I'm playing,between other games is to try and get thru without a single death.Try playing it that way and see how you go.Evil person am I not??haha
