ElTerprise: Hello everyone *big hugs and waves*

How are you all doing?

avatar
ddickinson: It was bound to have some teething troubles. Maybe GOG should try a beta program, allowing a part of the community to test new features before they roll them out site wide.
avatar
ElTerprise: I like that idea although i think it might not be that easy to implement...
You realize Galaxy had a closed beta stage during which it was exactly what DD describes?

And yet this is what we got.
avatar
GreenDamsel: 10% cocoa is utterly disgusting for me.
Usually I go with 95% Lindt chocolate once a month.
And for drinking chocolate I'll stick to cold swiss Ovomaltine, when I'm not drinking tea. And that's a rare occasion.
I tasted a 98% cocoa chocolate once... you are supposed to let a little tablet melt on your tongue and appreciate it like a fine wine... very interesting flavour...
avatar
AgentBirdnest: I think many Americans would disagree... We'd probably call it "dark" or "bittersweet" chocolate. We usually prefer milk chocolate, which as I understand, only has to be 10% cocoa in America :-|
avatar
LaPtiteBete: And you DARE calling that chocolate !! >:-| peuh !!!
You should come over to Europe and try some chocolate. Cote d'or, Belgian pralines (which I believe are in French really called bonbons), Swiss chocolate (although the Belgian is the best >:p ).

And you could try some Italian ice cream, real old school zauerkraut dishes, and many other things besides. ;)

oh, and Paella (the Spanish dish)

You do realize that GoG was in Alpha and is now in Beta? I do not recount a closed beta specifically. The alpha was pretty open anyway. Anybody who applied got in as far as I remember.
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Hum... I have to try your chocolate... and make sur it's not more Legendary than mine... ):-| ... when you want for the contest !!
Yes, we have tons of (funny) expressions here :)
avatar
Vnlr: Over at DD's, so that we have a cute impartial judge. Noon, on top of some grassy hill with mobile cooking fires and our ingredients >:|
...
:D
Okay >:-| ... Which grassy hill ?
DD, give us your availability dates, please.
avatar
ddickinson: I was too tired to type tired hugs. :-)

I got about 2-3 hours sleep, not great, but still better than the 1 hour I had the night before, and the zero hours the night before that. So that makes it about 3-4 hours sleep in about 72 hours.

I am going good. Tired (obviously), but can't complain. The weather here is wet and cold, but not something that will dampen my day.

*big tight return too tired for tired hugs hug* :-)
Okay... that's a little better... still not amazing, but, well... hopefully it's getting better and better... :)
(always look on the bright side, as Brian would say).
I hope your day of work won't be too tiring... be careful not to fall into apples ;-p (this is for Vnlr hehe)
**Another big encouraging and energizing hug with extra mood booster**

Nope, we call them "chocolats" :-) des chocolats belges. Yummy...
Ho yeah, we have so many specialilties... hmmm... you make me hungry and I'm not even close to take my lunch break >:-|

Yeah, we get that a lot :-p
Usually, anything with a higher percentage of cocoa than our "milk chocolate" is hard to find. "Dark chocolate" is a specialty item, something that the chocolate makers put out a couple times a year as a gimmick. It's too bitter for most people here. We like having our chocolate loaded with a metric pluckton of sugar, until you can barely taste the chocolate anymore...
For the record, I prefer real chocolate. Not the weird-ass stuff that passes for it here :-p

ddickinson: Good morning, ladies, gentlemen, and lurkers!

I hope you are all doing well today?

*morning hugs and silly waves*
We'sss doin' well, aren't we preciousss? Yesss lotsss of gamesss and fisssh and lotsss of postsss to lurk behind...

Availability dates for judging chocolate? That would be anytime. :-)

What would they be judged on, things like taste, texture, and colour?

My day should not be too bad. I am out with the round baler a bit later, depending on the weather. Then some stuff with the animals (milking, feeding, etc.) then lots of other little jobs. But nothing too bad. At least not yet anyway.

*big thank you return hug*

That just reminds me of the one question regarding sweet stuff that kept on bothering me for ages:
Why do British and American people say that British chocolate is good. I have not found any chocolate that tastes worse.

And yeah in general the Belgians really do know their sweets.
France for fine cuisine.
Italy for great sea food.
Denmark for pastries.
Norway for fish.
Germany for bread and everything on top of it.

Anything I missed?
avatar
superstande: Good morning EITerprise!
here things are fine!
How's Germany? :)

Here's another game we need in gog!

Good Morning!
Things are good her - we have great weather :)
The game looks cute.

avatar
LaPtiteBete: Perfect \o/ your french is very good !
I don't have to wake up "that" early, so it's fine... luckily, because I always go to bed too late :)
Plus, I played "AMong the Sleep" yesterday (a very nice gift that Endre made me a couple months ago), and I was scared as f*ck ; I didn't sleep very well, but it wass because of my room atmosphere and temperature... other than that, and having a not-awesome face, I feel good :)
But i need much time to phrase those sentences ;)
Glad to hear that - is "Among the Sleep" a good game?

avatar
ddickinson: I got a few hours, but still not my normal amount of sleep.
Finger-crossed that you return to your normal amount of sleep soon and glad to hear that you're doing good otherwise :)

It was a close alpha, wasn't it?
And i know but that would only work Galaxy-wise but not website-wise, right?

Oh look, it's that damn elf from Harry Potter. :-)

Or is it the original Sméagol from Lord of the Rings? I guess it must be the original, that post was too well written for Harry Potter. :-)

It is just the better one between American and British, I think :-)

Yes it was, but most of the time nowadays the difference between beta and alpha is pretty much semantics.

I mean, the damn thing still looks pretty much like an alpha in some aspects.

Didn't realize you were referring to the website in particular. Yeah, that'd be rather difficult to implement.

One thing I did like about Harry Pothead was JK Rowling making the elves tiny servile goblins with sad faces.
Take that Noldor fanboys!
I've known a few players who specialized in munchkinizing Noldor characters.

Well that's true. And Galaxy could have needed some more time in alpha...
I was referring to both but i only use the website currently which means the website chat "system"

By the way: Are you feeling better?

Yeah, some things got broken, others lost and in the end no one's happy with the result.

Much better, thank you.

I'm thinking of burning through my budget and renting that one game I mentioned yesterday.

And there's still so much sale left, I'm scared!

Cadbury's supposed to have a reputation. I'm not entirely sure what sort of rep, but it does have one.

I read about the creme eggs debacle.
