CarrionCrow: The way I'm doing stuff, I'm not really giving myself that option, even if the game is total crap.
I don't think Wasteland 1 will be that way, it's just going to take a while to figure out the interface.

That makes me want to clear it fully before the new version comes out, so I can see the differences better.
Wasteland handles almost like a text/conversational adventure. Remember it's from 1987, when the commodore 64 was king. Reagan was president, Star Wars was both a movie and a billion dollar government defense project, the cold war was a thing, we still lived in fear of actual nuclear holocaust and people fried their hair and wore ridiculous shoulder pads.

Good times.

CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

How're you doing tonight?
avatar
Soccorro: OKish and you?
Can't complain here, just another standard day. Stuff outside, stuff around the house and fiddling around on the computer when everything's done.

Now I'm just trying to get my pile of games organized while watching a show on the monitor.
Thrilling events, as always. -laughs-

From the little I've read about the new version, at least the text is now included on-screen rather than needing to be presented in a paper manual on the side.
I try to be flexible with a game's age, but that would've been a bit of an immersion breaker.

You know, it never occurred to me to do things in such a way! LOL I might have to try this sometime (go back and try a true remaster after experiencing the original).

If you ever want to get a strange sort of insight into this, there's a pretty good book called "Way Out There in Blue." I only mention it because it's not really a common topic of conversation and I figure someone who mentioned the pres / program might be interested in it.

Just got through going that route with Icewind 1 and the enhanced edition version of it.
Having played the original beforehand showed me that the changes weren't worth going through the entirety of what still felt like the exact same game again.

It's not caffeine?! You have to tell me what it is then, starting with... is it legal?!

Oh you mean my medication? Or my caffeine addiction?

Devo - Mongoloid
I am assuming you know this already, but they shot Jocko Homo on their own dime with a super 8 and shopped it around to the music firms.
Okay heading out. I'm going to do some gaming to try and plug away at my current so I can get ready for something new and shiny.

See you bright and early tomorrow for the sale start! ;) Everyone else gets to tease why can't I?

I'm running on integrated graphics, not the best way to check on better visuals.
To me, the game experience was way more important, and it wasn't bringing nearly enough to the table to make me want to go through the expansions again.

We'll see. Hopefully they'll get on with it and start the frigging thing already.

Have a good night. =)

OK it's gaming time. Jedi Knight DF 2, maybe KotOR 2 as well.

The force is strong in this one.

And with that I'm out, advanced a bit too much into the wee hours. And yet I'm not sleepy, just tired.

Can't really sleep with this bloody heat!
Some stormtroopers and drones paid a visit with my blasters... now I'm off to pay a visit with my pillows. Good night!
Earth defence force insect armageddon quick take:
-good things: fun! No plot - a nice change after an rpg-burnout, the ants look disgusting enough, there's huge mecha-thingies...
-bad things: no savepoints (at least haven't seen any), the usual steam things
Edit: it auto-saves between levels.

*waves*

Sort of hoping the summer sale does start tomorrow - that's my payday. :D

Currently catching up on the last few episodes of Arrow and Flash, and hoping that my headache finally goes away. I just played through the two Grim Legends games and I'm eyeing my backlog to see what jumps out - quite possibly another Artifex Mundi game, given my lack of concentration at the moment.
