l0rdtr3k: How do you a a silly wave? Do you RIver Dance and wave at the same time?
You do it however you like. If you wanted to do the River Dance at the same time then that's up to you. What ever you think would be silly works just fine. :-)

ddickinson: No need to thank me, but you are welcome none the less. This thread does seems to be a nice place for offering support, or so I have heard. :-)
Yeah it really is :).

ElTerprise: Yeah. So your anthem Amhrán nabhFiann might be interesting (unless you intonate it in english)...;)

I really liked it there - although i had trouble understanding the english sometimes ;).
Oh yeah, the anthem is usually sung in English (as far as I remember anyway, can't say I ever had much of a reason to sing it)
To be honest I couldn't even tell you any of the words to the anthem without looking it up...
But the Fields of Athenry is pretty much our unofficial anthem and I know that word perfect :)

See my previous comment ;)
I'd be impressed if you didn't have trouble understanding people :)

moonshineshadow: *big return hug* I listened to some music, read a bit and played a bit Witcher 2 (would have played more if the crashes had not annoyed me) and enjoyed cooking.
avatar
toxicTom: Strangely enough TW2 never crashed on me, while Skyrim always crashes at least once per hour (sometime even within minutes, seems to depend on the area).

What did you cook?
So you were lucky with TW2. But I have to say I never had problems with Skyrim, it ran fine for me.

And I cooked "Kartoffelgulasch" :D

ddickinson: A whole 6 hours sleep? What a light-weight (only joking). :-)

I am very sorry to hear you had such an unfortunate weekend. I was hoping you would have a wonderful long weekend. I will keep my fingers crossed that next weekend will be much better.
Thanks, I really hope it will get better. This weekend really was a mess of bad luck and unfortunate circumstances combined with somehow everybody being on edge and resulting from this a lot of conflict and grumpiness.

ddickinson: I love re-reading some of my favourite books, I usually do that when I am not able to give a new book the attention it requires, such as when I have such little time or I am too tired really to get into a new book like it deserves.
I have certain books that I re-read every now and then in varying intervals. The Witcher books are among them and also a lot of works by Haruki Murakami. But there are some books that I utterly enjoyed reading them for the first time where I feel no inclination to read them again.

Like the Silly Walks? Do you have a Ministry of Silly Waves as well a Silly Walks?

moonshineshadow: If I should guess I would say they did not fix it since it only crashes for some pc users who are using win7. So the number of people was not big enough for them to care.
But perhaps I am just pessimistic.

And I really hope they change their stupid saving system in Witcher 3.
But many gamers still use Windows 7. And with the Witcher 3 coming out soon, surly new customers would also be drawn into trying the original games if they have not already, and it would not be good if it crashed for so many people. But I guess you are right, if it only affects a small number of users (relatively speaking), that might be the reason, although that does not make it acceptable. They clearly say it supports Windows 7, and you paid good money for it and they should make sure it works for you as the customer.

What is wrong with the save system for Witcher 2?

And do not think I have forgotten about getting you your second star next week. :-)

Fields of Athenry is a great song - got to know The Dubliners because of my Parents :).

Yeah. Doing interviews for my excursion was interesting to say the least ;).

All the TES games have been crash-prone for me, regardless of the machine I'm running them on. Of course they are all heavily modded but both Oblivion and Skyrim have CTDs even vanilla.

And Kartoffelgulasch sounds good :-)

That is unfortunate. Well lets hope next weekend will be the opposite, with lots of fun time with your family.

Sadly with all that I have been dealing with since Christmas, I have been worn out a lot and just not in the mood for some good new books. I have read a few, but generally I have been sticking to light reads or ones I have previously read. But I do have a few good books lines up for when I have some more free time, and I am looking forward to them.

*Avoids the mention of the Witcher books, before Tom hounds me about them again.* :-)

Yeah, I am a bit frustrated, perhaps I'll go and annoy the gog support about the problem, once I got them to give me back my money from charging me twice.

And the save system, is in my opinion a mess. You can only press "Save" and it creates a new save game. With some weird naming of which quest you have active at the moment. So while playing you create a million saves with random naming.
I really hope they introduce a normal save system with Witcher 3, but I doubt it, since if I remember correctly they also had this system in the first game.

This thread sure does love its Monty Python references. :-)

I think you should, at the worst nothing will get fixed, at best they might know a fix, or maybe if enough complain they might fix it, possibly after the Witcher 3 is released.

I am kind of surprised about that save system, it seems like something you should not see these days. Even games in the 1990s had better save systems. Considering all the good things I have heard about the game, things like that just seem a bit unprofessional or poorly designed.
