ElTerprise: It really should come to GOG - but it's Bethesda, right?
Yeah.

GhostwriterDoF: <ruffles the little blob playfully>

When playing Starcraft, don't try to build up your base defenses too much, and make sure
you move out as soon as possible to capture resources, to keep the enemy from building up
their forces! ;)
That could actually be the reason why i suck at Starcraft (or all Blizzard RTS apart from the scripted campaign)...thanks for the tip :).

Grargar: Yeah.

Unfortunetly the original relies on too much rush tactics but it still is one of my favourite RTSs if not one of the best games that I've ever played. Can't say much about the sequel.Blizzard did some balancing, right?

toxicTom: The Aliens TC was quite good back in the day. Memento Mori is very much in spirit of Doom, although it features new graphics and iirc new music.
Ah yes, the famous Aliens TC; I almost forgot about that. Will take a look at both but, in all honesty, playing the second secret level of TNT: Evilution got me hankering for a Pirate-themed TC. :P

Yes. And yes :-)

Favourite short story? Mine are The Color Out of Space and The Dunwich Horror.

Hard question. "The Colour" is certainly among them, and also all the stories connected to the Cthulhu mythos like "The Shadow over Innsmouth". Have you played "Dark Corners of the Earth"? At least the beginning is very good and very much in the spirit of Lovecraft.

Waiting for a GOG release. If we got SS2,we'll get it. I hear that the game is pretty fantastic and the lynch mob setpiece is the most memorable part of the game.

Heh! Well, it's the C&C games that get me stuck in the mix, they are still fun even though I struggle through them a bit.

One of the best thing about reading through the Threads here is learning about, and/or passing on what little tips we know of games that we might find useful. ;)

Yeah. I never had problems with C&C but Starcraft was a red rag for me.

A GOG release? That would be cool. The mob scene is indeed very well done, as is the build-up before it. Afterward the game sadly lets to be desired. Lot's of good ideas but someone decided it needs more action...

Yes, they kept on patching the game (and expansion) for years. Though if you are running the game on a newer PC, I would suggest that you do not install any of the patches, or else you might have graphic issues. (the digital download Battlenet version)should be 1.5.2.

Just to be clear, don't install the patches for Starcraft and it's expansion, but for Diablo 2 and it's expansion, definitely install the latest patch, but the correct one if you are running the game with or without the expansion.

I seem to have gotten better with Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, I have them both installed and haven't been
stuck yet, other than distractions keeping me from getting back to playing them. (never made it all the way through RA 2, even back in the day).

For Brood War I had to make a .bat file to kill the explorer.exe then I can play without looking like I'm tripping on acid.

From I heard is based on Shadow Over Innsmouth and Dagon appears.

Anyone have any promos they would like to see?

I'd honestly like to see a 2D fighter bundle. I don't have Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat yet.

Maybe you should do that when you've time. But imho C&C95 and RA1 are more difficult than TS and RA2.

We don't have many ARPGs or Dungeon Crawlers but I'd like to see a promo of them.
Still waiting for Eye of the Beholder and Descent to Undermountain(it's a guilty pleasure).
