Moin everyone *big hugs and waves*

How are you all doing?

CarrionCrow: I have to say...going to the competition, seeing Skyrim listed, and all the top reviews being negative?
People screaming and bitching and complaining, Bethesda and Valve now being hated because they're only interested in money?

It gives me a bit of a warm, fuzzy feeling...>=)
Hello Crow :).
looked at the PCMR subreddit yesterday which was interesting to say the least...
Well Sykrim already dropped in the rating i think from over 93% positive reviews to 89%....

Good morning. =)

Those numbers don't surprise me. Skyrim isn't a very good game without mods, and now that people have to pay for those previously free upgrades, the positive review percentage will continue to decrease, I'm sure.

That's likely. If i'm not mistaken the SkyUI is also about to become paid mod so i wouldn't be surprised about a further decrease.

The best thing i heard is that one of the next games which souhld get paid mods is an Space Engineers an earl access game !

SkyUI is IMO one of the essential mods, if you want any fun out of Skyrim. Paywalling this would be... dumb, in many ways. Actually it's Bethesda who should pay the modders for fixing their game...

There's no way Bethesda will do that. They make money putting out games that are always partially broken at the very least. They aren't going to hand over a single penny of that unless they have no choice.

Yeah. True forgot about monday morning xD

I actually played thre first without (it was playable) but it's definitely one most essential mods - next to the unofficial patches. I heard that paywalling these could get the modder into licensing issues which the reason why the modding team of Enderal said that they stay away from the paywall as it would get them bankrupt (one of the developers wrote an op-ed at gamestar.de)

No they won't. As you pointed out every Elder Scrolls Game i played needed the unofficial patches to play properly and Bethesda doesnt bother to fix these in Skyrim (not to speak of Oblivion and Morrowind). Bethesda gets lion's share from the revenue already - 40% if i'm not mistaken... but i couldn't stand Bathesda before after what they've done with this Wolfenstein TNO....

But from a financial standpoint it's a perfect situation for Bethesda without any risk (not countin a tarnished reputation) on their side becaue if a paid breaks the game - too bad for the player...

Of course not. Really, the only thing you haven't mentioned that could improve the day so far is a nice driving wind to go with it. Rainfall is always improved by it flying in your face at every moment, after all. =)

I can tell you that for a fact. It's the classical "Hamburg weather" which is cold, windy and rainy :).
