Hmmm... and here I thought all I needed to do was decide on a name for an intelligence based stat to govern things like magic... but looking into the whole attributes issue has got me thinking about which other stats I need or don't need... :/

The more I look into it all, the more attributes I want to add!
Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, and I should be looking at what kind of things characters will be able to do, and what attributes I need to govern those skills...

*disappears back into cave muttering*...

GhostwriterDoF: <the sound of gears turning echoes inside the hollow where a brain should be>

Perhaps now would be a good time to take all those attributes governing skills and break them into their associated classes?

It might help to get all the ideas sorted out, so that your stats can be flexible as to how they might influence all the shared primary skills and class specific variations of passive and action type skills....

and...

Good Evening and Good Day to everyone. :)

All is well here, at least with me, in my little corner of the world.
Just popped in to pop in and see what the evening shift is like for a change.
Good evening. =)

Bit of a mental lull here. Trying to re-energize with more caffeine, being reminded that I should probably stop buying shoot 'em ups since I'm not very good at them.

How's your day been?
So another night OD-ing on sports. Usually don't watch that much TV but there's too much on this evening for me not to get sucked in damnit ;)

The Bundle Tower was pretty good - the great deals didn't hurt. You reminded me I need to go make a Trading Thread Post - I didn't grab anything but I'm starting to wish I had gone with one in particular.

Speaking of sale hauls - I finally fired up Drox Operative which I grabbed during Insomnia (I had still been playing Dead State, my other big Insomnia pick up - going strong in it, just thought I'd switch it up with something a bit different).

Anyway, the game (Drox) is a bit... hectic. Anyone here play it and have any pointers? I find I want to be checking out loot and stuff is constantly happening around me. I want to sell off stuff, but races are always going to war with me (less because of what I do, more because I'm guessing other races are causing them to?). All very early in game. Any pointers? Should I be making more use of the "Cease Fire" option (a temporary lull in hostilities?). Even in the very beginning, I had focused on one sector, doing missions for a race and not wandering far and they even turned on me LOL. I'm open to any ideas.

Howdy Crow, I came into the Thread just after you went to sleep this morning.

Why stop getting the shoot 'em ups just because we're not good at them? It's not like it's a strategy game, or a platformer where things get all serious... heh!

It's been a good day, hardly any phone calls, still a bit busy with chores and other things cutting into the games though I'm trying not to be pressed for time, and getting a little writing in when I can.

I did manage to install MoW Vietnam today so I can at least test it out a bit, but haven't started it up yet.

Watching more of American Horror Story here. Surprisingly good show so far.

I have that game, but haven't loaded it up.
Strange that every single group seems to have decided simultaneously to wipe you out.
Just did a fast manual skim, didn't see anything that stood out as a reason why you'd be getting attacked by all sides immediately.

I need excuses to stop buying things. Being total crap at a certain genre works as well as any. ;)

I'm glad to hear your day's been pleasant overall. Gotta love housework, it seemingly never ends.

I still need to load up the original in that series. Haven't tried it with everything else that's already installed.

It might be that Ixamyakxim didn't level up enough over time and was one of the weakest factions,
and that the AI is designed to focus on the weakest factions first to wipe them out, giving players
a little time to develop their ship/faction?

You might want to load up Red Tide if you have it first, it is a bit more fun and less frustrating than the first MoW...

Ah, yes, well... most of the time I'm able to talk myself out of purchases... heh!

It's good to hear that you, and most everyone else is ok (in this Thread and in the community). and in good spirits, even when they are struggling to get through the day. :)

The game does have mechanics that will get factions to view you as an enemy. I'd need to load up the game and play for a bit to see if the same thing happens to me initially.

That one always looked interesting to me (especially one of the early seasons) but I never watched it - for no good reason. Plus I liked the idea of it being "one and done" in a season. How is it? Worth going back to? Or at least checking it out next time it rolls around?

And one side isn't at war with me, but the other two in the nearest sectors are. So basically I have one sector I can sell in, the other close sectors are hostile. I wonder if I should bail and just check out far off sectors, but then I worry the group that is friendly with me will turn on me too LOL.

I feel pretty strong as an individual ship - I can take out the guys I encounter. I'm just pretty bad at keeping people from going to war with me - which makes it hard to sell stuff. I guess I could try doing quests for enemies and see if that helps maybe. I was wondering if I was missing something with the "diplomatic" options.

The first and second seasons are both good. Watching the third now, and it feels like the weakest of the bunch.
The premise of witches each having their own individual super power, in a special school for gifted people?
It feels like a stitched-together combo of Charmed and X-Men. Not great.

If you've done work for the one faction that's not hostile, the relationship should be stable until you do something to make them angry. Heading off to another sector to find a better staging area should still be a viable option.

This is the one I remember most and liked the premise of witches but yeah Charmed + X-Men but done in a serious way (in other words, not Buffy) doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in.

I remember the previews of the first season - what was the setting for the second? That one is slipping my mind right now. Was it the asylum?

I'm not sure it's you after reading through the reviews...

I don't have the game, though it looks good, was just taking a wild guess. It might be a good idea to check the individual sub-Forum for the game to see if anyone might have suggestions, or if Crow (or anyone else with the game in this Thread) finds something of interest that might help with the diplomacy. I've been curious about the game, so I'll listen in to see what develops in tackling that aspect of the gameplay.

Hm... Just loaded up MoW Vietnam... I lost three guys in the first ten minutes to a booby-trap hidden in the bush. heh! Better use a point man when I make a serious run at a play-through of the first few levels.

Yes, they're attempting to play it straight, no laughs, putting in what I guess is supposed to be suspense.
It's not working.

You've got it, the second season is the asylum one.
@Icewind Dale

The only magical weapon I have is that phase dagger thing, and it seems pretty weak. I'll need to either use mage spells to take down big ghosts/mummies or see if I can afford an enchanted weapon at the blacksmith.

Poked around in the subforum a bit, saw a few pointers, saw some people that had some of the same issues, saw there might be options to deal with them. I'm going to work away at it a bit more, as the "core" (at least I think it's the core) gameplay of looting and shooting with a space ship is right up my alley. We'll see where I end up!
Good Morning 'Vry-On'
Wish I had time to participate more here (or maybe it's best I don't :) )
Been spending strange days with my old Acer laptop -> my wife's current.
Started making this unnerving 'clack-clack' sound of a sudden yesterday.
Rebooted, and it kept clacking and clicking, "operation system not found," or such came up.
It had Linux Mint... Kept it on for all night, as I thought it might be validating (or something).
Today...
The clacking is gone and the Linux Mint is back :)
Might. Be. A. Time. To get a replacement for my wife, eh?
My wife is the owner no. 4 of that Acer, so it's really second hand...
Also there has been odd 'power-offs' and oh man all kinds of things.
Maybe it has A Ghost In The Machine? :)
Deus Ex Machina...
