Pickle1477: Random question, anyone know why I can't post a new topic? It's just stuck on Processing...
There has been some problems with the forum for a while, so it could just be another bug.

ElTerprise: I hope so. The stuff from my mother's computer was easy but just a lot. My data wasn't as much but at least my university was pure chaos...that's why i called it Augean Stables ^^. But i think i've sorted everything out now and i avoided duplicates. At the moment all stuff is being copied to my external hdd... but the whole process was just awfully fiddly...:).

I think i need to get a backup programme for the next time :).
Glad to hear you got it all sorted before any problems occurred.

GhostwriterDoF: Good morning, afternoon and evening everyone!
I’ve read through the last few pages of posts to catch up already, it seems most of you are happy and well, and helping to support those among us who are having some difficulties.

Hope the day, and week, is shaping up to be a good one for everyone too.

All is well, and I’m doing fine here, I’ve just been busy and a little distracted by being busy.

The trip out to the desert was good, but we had to cut it short. Hardly anyone else was able to go out there to meet us this time as well, so it was a nice quiet evening. We didn’t even barbeque after sundown, since there was already food being cooked when we got there. heh!

Here’s a couple pics I took. :)

Good morning! *morning hug*

Sorry to hear you had to cut your camping trip short, but I am glad to hear you had a good time there.

Gees what is today (inter)national backup day?

Thanks. But the funny thing is that after i finished the backup on my mother's pc the weird noises from the hdd stopped after a reboot ...

It might help to get into the habit of backing things up regularly too... :P

Here is a pic of our fire, though we just had a small one, because it wasn't that cold, and someone used the logs we hauled up there last time, so we just burned up a bit of the trash (wood and paper stuff only) we usually use to get a good fire started. The pit itself is about 2 meters in diameter and we've cleared about 200 to 300 feet around it, to be safe (and so we can see snakes when they're coming to get us)... heh!

But at least you have it all backed up now, just in case it should decide to fail.

ddickinson: Would it be worth reading, or would it just be illegible due to you being too drunk? :-)

Just be careful, or you might get a terrible hangover and end up looking like this in the morning:

<big squishy return hug>

Oh, no need to be sad, we had a good time whilst we were there, and found out about an interesting
place we can check out next time we go, which may be sooner than later.

Plus I got to play with the dogs, which is always nice, since I can't have pets where I'm at. :)

Yeah. And a reinstallation on both my laptop and my mother's pc is planned.
We'll if that helps for the pc. My Laptop will get the dual-boot treatment my pc got a few weeks ago..:).

Return Hello "hug"

and...
<ruffles your hair playfully again>

It may have been a short trip, but it was still good.

My friend has a good diesel truck, it gets about 18 to 20 mpg (yes miles! heh!) when we are
hauling stuff, so between the two of us it isn't that expensive to get out there on our own. :)

Some of the pics I take are a little blurred though, as I take them from moving vehicles... I'll have
to figure out how to adjust this camera. Got it last year, and I'm still learning to use it properly.
Perhaps one day I'll be able to get a good picture of the stars at night, with a slower shutter speed.

It is good to hear you had a lot of fun there, and that you got to play with the dogs. Do you go camping often?
