I know it is not all of Japan, but it does seem to be quite common these days. That's what spoiled a lot of Anime for me, it's either underage girls looking slutty, or women with overly giant boobs, the kind that look ridiculous. It just seem very creepy to me, the underage thing and the giant boob thing.

I managed to get a little sleep, but a few bad dreams kept me from getting any decent sleep. But that is okay, I am not feeling too tired at the moment.

Completely understandable, a lot of it looks like straight-up fetishization.

Adding Ys 6 to my list alongside the rest of the Ys items that've been released here so far.
Figuring I'll play them in release order, so it'll be a while before I get to 6, but I've seen video reviews for other entries and the series looks good as a whole.

Oh yeah, they absolutely wasted that character. They had all the personality of a chunk of cardboard covered in red paint.
To go from Vader and the Emperor to that makes me think Lucas was huffing glue throughout all stages of production.

Release order seems sensible with those.. I've tried to figure out the chronological order to decide which one should be first to get when I can afford it and I have no idea what's a prequel or a sequel or a remake...

Yes they did. I'm not even a big Star Wars fan, and I tend to hate Disney on general principles, but even I'm interested in seeing what a new series will look like without Lucas there to pretty much destroy everything.

I'm really interested too (also not a huge Star wars fan) and i think (hope) JJ Abrams will do better with Star Wars than with Star Trek. Abramsverse is awful imho...

Same here, never played any of them, but I've heard good things and it's supposed to be one of the classic JRPG series so I'll try it eventually and figure it out from there.

I'd say it can't be much worse than what they've already done.. but I'd hate for them to prove me wrong XD

It does indeed drag down the industry and also gives it the wrong image overall. I wonder how many anime shows or Japanese games have been over looked due to people thinking they are all the same. I would think it would also put of some of the new potential customers as well, except for the overly perverted ones. :-)

Thank you, that is very nice of you to day. I will be okay, my bad dreams are mostly bad memories rather than usual bad dreams. I was recently talking to someone about when I was working at an abuse centre that dealt with women and children who had been abused (all kinds, sexual, physical, mental, etc). I was talking about how I saw a few children try to commit suicide, and one that I stumbled upon that I was too late to help, and that seemed to have caused some of those memories to pay me a visit in my sleep. It upset me a little, but I will be okay. I came to terms with all that stuff a ling time ago, I am fine talking about it all, but it still shakes me a little when I end up having vivid dreams about those kind of things.

For some reason I did not like the look of the Ys games, not sure why, I just remember that I did not want to add them to my wishlist for some reason. Maybe one day I will take a look at them again, but chances are I will still not like them, or at least some part of them that clearly put me off the first time.

Haven't seen any of the new Star Trek stuff. Never interested me enough to look into them.
Pretty sure I haven't ever seen a movie that person directed, so I'll be going in blind.

And you didn't miss much. They're pretty popcorn entertainment only loosely connected to the essence of Star Trek and the second one of the new movies is basically is a bit of a remake of "The Wrath of Khan"...

I'd be willing to bet that quite a few people have passed on the whole thing, considering it to be wall-to-wall softcore fetish porn. Makes decent anime that much trickier to find, since all that crap needs to be weeded out.

As soon as I saw the person playing Kirk, I knew it wouldn't happen.
If I want to watch someone in that role, I'll dig up episodes full of 60's Shatner cheese to enjoy. =)

But i was more a fan of the 24th century shows (TNG and DS9 , voyager not so much) anyway
