FearfulSymmetry: Maybe it shook loose over a long period of time? :P And yes, sports are dangerous for glasses.
Possible. Yeah but i need them during sports. And both football and volleyball are exceptionally dangerous for them...*sigh* ;)

FearfulSymmetry: The Irish are notoriously hard to understand, I think. I was having some trouble when I stayed in Dublin as well. :)
Yeah which was unfortunate as i was there on a field trip from university researching about the economic crisis. But Ireland is really nice place on earth :).

FearfulSymmetry: I don't even know the 'Dr Quinn' one - my first thought was of Henry VIII's wife as well! :P

FearfulSymmetry: I'm thinking of maybe getting some cheap day lenses at a drugstore. Those would have the correct power but not the cylinders I need. Still, it should be sufficient to see reasonably well in case of emergency.
That sounds like a good idea. You don't want to be left without anything if your new lenses are faulty again.

avatar
ElTerprise: Definitely closer to home although i know some people in Canada. It'll be most probably the UK as i had some difficulties understanding the oirish ^^ when i was in Dublin... :).
I have heard that even some Irish can find it difficult to understand the Irish, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. :-)

I am not sure about lucky, but she does have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.

Jane Seymour the actress is a stage name based on the wife of King Henry VIII. The actresses real name is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg.

Well at least I was not alone in thinking of the original Jane Seymour. :-)

Yep, not being able to see won't improve your chances. :)

No, don't feel that way! Then I should be uncultured as well, because I don't know the person you're referring to. We all just have different general knowledge. :D

Any better, or will this require more hugging? :-)

Well that's inconvenient :). But i also have trouble understanding Bavarians and Swabians so nothing out of the ordinary i guess ;)

Not really :P.

I just looked at the new Staff pick. I don't have Lifeless Planet and Waking Mars. Any opinions / recommendations?

I don't know about Lifeless Planet, but Waking Mars is awesome. Go and get it! :) I really enjoyed it though it's not normally my type of game.

It's a platformer, right? It surely looks like one...

I found Lifeless Planet to be quite good, but I am not sure it is worth the price. It is quite short, and while there is some replayability, once you know the story there is little real incentive to play again, as the game is very linear. If it was cheaper then I would suggest it, as it is a fun game with a nice 1950-1960s era Sci-Fi feel to the story. I would suggest waiting for a better sale price, or even getting it for extremely cheap if it appears on a DRM-Free bundle again.

*Even more big comforting hugs*

Don't worry, I did not know her real name either, I saw it on Wikipedia when I was searching for which Jane Seymour you were referring to. I knew she used a stage name, but I was not sure what her real name was, so you were not the only one.

Well, there are bits and pieces of platforming, but at its heart, what the game requires you to do is plant the right plants in the right spots. Essentially it's more of a plant and animal growing thing. :P I normally hate management games like these, but for some reason I found this one really enjoyable. I also liked the art style and the setting.

It looks like a game i would like but the price was setting me apart. (same story with Gone Home in the other promo).
I think i can wait for bigger discount.

Same here. I'll wait for it to appear in a bundle again or something.
