On another note, although I bought this bundle in a previous sale, I actually haven't gotten around to playing much of these games yet. I think I'll try Baldur's Gate in my summer holiday.

But that's not looking good so far, just made my party (fun!) and saved and exited to see what was going on in the forums and got a BSOD :/
I expect it from Civ 5 or Lords of Xulima, but Icewind Dale? Laptop was getting very hot too, will have to see if there is any optimizations I can make. Any ideas anyone?
I've never had a issue with it on 2 laptops and a desktop.
Sounds like the laptop video is working too hard. Are there quality settings in the game you can fiddle with, I don't remember.
Some of the features may be pissing off the laptop video. Wish I could be more help, try the forum and if needed GOG support. It's worth it for that game.

Wow...that's extremely weird. Only problem I've ever had with the GOG edition of that one is having to start it as an administrator. No problems otherwise, certainly no blue screens.
Maybe loading it in XP compatibility mode could help?

This laptop has always had issues with over heating with a lot of games. Oddly usually only when I close them, not when they are running.
I've had a look in the forum and found the config settings, which let me lower the graphics options so I'll give that a try and see if it helps.
Either that or just save a lot and keep the fans clears... :)

I can’t set up a GoGwiki right now, since I use my wishlist as a reference to keep track of publishers and certain games, because of the abominable GoG site search function. Currently there are 16 games on it, and only about 6 that I actually want to get. heh! (I’ll figure something out.) :D

It's just the laptop, it's rubbish for gaming, not designed for it at all. It was just a cheap one I got a few years ago for business stuff.

Well, as mentioned before, playing it will probably be fine. It'll be the crashing every time I close that will get annoying.

But I should probably close Chrome when I play games... as it eats my computers memory and causes all sorts of problems... but I'm a certified addict so it's hard to do that :/

Yeah, I know the problem. I hate closing Firefox while playing a game, but sometimes it does help a bit with the performance.
