Pacific time zone but nothing coastal here. Nearest thing to that is a lake that's about half-size due to drought. Haven't seen the ocean in decades.
If I remember correctly, you're based out of Michigan. Remembered that while mentioning to a relative who shares an enjoyment of jigsaw puzzles that I was discussing the subject with someone who lives in what has to be, hands-down, the snowiest part of it by far. ;)

We're pushing 100 inches right now, currently in a whiteout, but we'll survive. :P We are a good foot behind last year.

Did the ice thing, the snow thing (think it got to about 15 or 16 feet where I was one year), the blizzard thing, the nearly breaking my back falling on ice thing, the fifty below zero thing and once I even did the onset of frostbite thing due to care-free consumption of cold beverages while walking down the street without gloves in fifteen below zero weather. Was a bit touch and go on that one, took a few months for the hands to recover.

Had my fill of that kind of weather and then some.

It rarely gets below 20 this close to the lake. If it was below freezing all the time I couldn't take it.

Understandable. It all gets very old, very fast, and the novelty goes out the window in a hurry.
Needless to say, I don't get all starry-eyed seeing snow fall anymore. More like a tendency to start cursing.
Funny thing, though? At least where I was, the wind made all the difference.
Go for a walk on a still night, zero degrees, wearing shorts and flip-flops? Totally doable.
Wind kicks in during? Eventually it starts feeling like the weather's trying to kill you. -laughs-

Just had a great big dinner (second Christmas dinner, as has become our tradition, and as usual much nicer than the one we had on Christmas day) and I'm stuffed full of good food and alcohol.

I hope everyone else is in a similar state.
