moonshineshadow: Yep. because of eastern. So Friday and Monday are a holiday :-) I'll go visit my family for these four days.

ddickinson: I am working normal days this week, no Easter holiday for me. :-(

I hope you have a very fun time visiting your family and have lots of fun.
*extra big hug* It is sure tough for you, not being able to take some holidays.

toxicTom: How is the scariness factor in that one? In comparison to other games? I'm currently playing FEAR which is not very frightening, although I really like the "mysterious" parts with the visions of the antagonist and of course Alma.
Outlast is a lot more scary than FEAR (I never found FEAR to be scary at all, to be honest). Outlast is a mixture of jump scares, being chased, and the atmosphere of the game. I would not say it's overly scary, but there are times that make you jump or get your heart beating, especially when running around in the dark trying to avoid some crazy inmate. I played it on hard, so I don't know if it's different on the normal setting, but I had lots of fun playing it.

ddickinson: Glad to hear you had a pleasant day, but sorry to hear about your great challenge with room tidying. Have you tried a whip? It sure helped those Egyptians when building the pyramids. :-)
Good idea! Now where did I put it... *rummaging*... morning star... sword.... scourge... flail... pitchfork... Hmm, I guess my wife took it to work.

toxicTom: That's sad to hear. I guess that is the downside of farm life - the farmer's work doesn't care if it's weekend or holiday.

We're going to visit both my and my wife's families. I guess it will be fun (at least for the kids), but as I'm not one for crowds of people it will probably get very exhausting for me.
I am used to working all the time, so it's okay. I usually work more over the holidays, to give my brothers a break, as they have kids of their own to spend time with.

I hope you have a pleasant time visiting family. Do you get in well with your wife's family?

It goes with the job, unfortunately. When things are running more smoothly on the farm we are able to take small vacations, but at the moment it's just not possible. The weekend away with my partner when we go to the ball will probably be the first little vacation we have had this year. We are leaving on the Friday night and returning Monday morning, so we will have the whole weekend to relax.

Do you have anything fun planned with your family?

Just got my paramedic uniform. So exciting!
Remind me never to need a paramedic whenever I'm in Germany. :P

Nothing special planned. Just relaxing and probably playing some games (computer and board games). And of course helping my mum cooking delicous menus for eastern :D

I also didn't feel scared in FEAR. I guess classic shooters and being afraid don't go well together since the player character tends to be pretty powerful. Although I can remember that I nearly shit my pants when I played Doom for the first time. Of course nowadays most people couldn't understand this. And STALKER, while not an overall scary game, nearly gave me a heart attack when I first encountered that psy mutant (Controller) in some forgotten tunnels. That one got my heart racing - had been a long time since I experienced something like this with a game.
Also worth remembering: Playing Silent Hill at a friend's place. The abandoned town was utterly creepy. The few "dark side" passages I've seen were not that bad, maybe because crazy shit happening was to be expected.

Actually I get along with my in-laws better than with my own clan (mother and step-father that is). I think one reason is that my parents tend to live in the past (everything was better in the past, blah blah) while my wife's parents are more open and interested in new things.
Good day to everyone! I've been reading through the pages of this Thread
to keep up with all the "goings on". :)
